Tru Green Hemlawn Billed for services I did not request and then harrassed me to pay Baltimore Maryland

I signed up with TruGreen lawn service last summer but after two or three treatments cancelled the service. We had water restrictions and a cable company digging up our yard so it didn't make sense to continue the service. However, after phoning them to cancel TruGreen continued to come, say they did a treatment, and leave a bill on our door.

I phoned several times to cancel, was told it was taken care of each time, but then they would come and do another treatment and leave me a bill. I finally told them I would not pay for any more treatments. They began to phone me three times a day and send invoices every week. I phoned them and asked them to stop harrassing me and then the invoices came every couple of days.

They have now turned me over to a collection company who is threatening me for the $80.00 they say I owe them. It is such a small amount it seems silly for me to continue this - but it is such a scam and I don't think they should get away with this. Even when I did pay and told them to remove me from their data base and stop all business with me - they came to my home and started all over again by doing another unauthorized treatment and then billing me. I feel as if I am in some horror movie!

I really don't know what to do at this point.
