AYUSA ONLY AFTER THE MONEY, NOT FOR THE STUDENTS San Francisco, California

My son was having problems while an exchange student in Germany. He became depressed with his situation and he reported it to AYUSA as he was told to do. AYUSA's reply was to immediately dismiss him from the program. They never spoke with him or even sent a representative to assess the situation. He had worked out the problems with the host family, but AYUSA insisted that the dismissal remain. We tried to speak with the AYUSA officials in San Francisco and we were treated rudely and with a total lack of courtesy.
We pointed out the AYUSA rules from our contract and showed them that my son had not violated any of the conditions of the program and in fact, it was AYUSA that was not following trough with what they advertised as their role in the exchange program. We asked for some type of alternative and were turned down for that as well as any type of refund. It is my opinion that they are in breach of our signed contract. Their only consideration is the money, not the well being of the students involved in their program.
If anyone else has had these problems, please respond as I am currently seeking legal advice and am considering a lawsuit.

I tend to agree with you that AYUSA may be only interested in the money, considering that their president received over $100,000 in compensation last year
