I was contacted by phone by 21st Legal Services asking if I wanted help with a loan modification. The person who first contacted me was Adam Grey. I told him that I did not need any assistance since I had already filed forms for loan modification with my mortgage lender, MetLife Home Loans directly. Adam then proceeded to tell him that he was a representative of MetLife Home Loans.

I went on to explain that we had no money in order to seek legal services for a loan modification. Adam indicated (I am not a 100% sure on this point) that, in some cases, the fee could be waived.

At first I hung up on Adam, knowing that it would not be worth my time or his. But he called back. Once I was led to believe that he represented MetLife Home Loans, I was on the phone with Adam about 15 minutes. He asked for some information which I told him that I was not comfortable giving on the phone. He said it would just be a few questions. It turned about to be about a dozen questions. He then said that he would contact me again once he talked with his supervisor. He called again in about 10 minutes, asking me to hold for his supervisor. The line was busy so he asked if he could call back again. I allowed this, as I still wasn't sure if he really did represent MetLife Home Loans. I finally received said call only to be told that I would be receiving another call soon.

After about 10 minutes, I received the call. After explaining to Hugo Rodriquez that I had already filed paperwork with MetLife Home Loans (something that he did not know), he and I decided that the whole thing was a waste of time.

This took up over an hour of my time. It upset me a great deal and I would caution anyone against using 21st Century Legal Services as they are definitely "hard sell".
