Capital One Credit Card capital one are a blood sucking company for people down on their luck Salt Lake City Utah

After being laid off my job, I fell behind on my bills. I tried a credit counseling co that only ripped me off by sending the payments late & capital one told me that it would not help anyway because the payments were too small so I stopped sending anything. after 3yrs, capital one sued me in court without me even knowing it. I made arrangements with them to pay monthly. one time i sent check to them that was meant for another company by mistake, it was made out to a completly different law firm(they all have three & four names & sound familiar) the law firm that was handeling the account cashed the check in, when i told them that it was not meant for them, they said for me to send the copy of the check & they would send me my money back, they never did. I was told by the bank that this was not illegal for a company to cash a check that was not made out to them.

Soon after, I hit hard times & went thru a divorce & could not continue to pay. Capital one placed a hold on my checking acct & froze my money. I only had $244 in my checking. I was told that I owed $1400 about $400 of that is late fees & penalties. They charged me $130 of court fees which they immediatly took out of acct, & by the 3rd day, the hold on each acct, 2savings & checking totaled to almost $6000.

I was told that if you have less than $300 in your acct, then it is exempt & the hold should be released but it could take 2mths!! In the mean time, checks that were written on the acct are coming in & the bank will not close the acct & are charging me fees every time a check comes in. I feel like I am living in a nightmare. I live paycheck to paycheck. My rent is due & my elec and gas and other bills. I wish there were a class action suit that I could join. There has got to be others out there that this is happening to.
