In June of 2008 my husband and I thought we had found the solution to our problems regarding obtaining legal help for him to see his son. I read through the website for www.fatherschoice.org and it seemed great. I entered my husbands information and we were contacted within 2 hours!
The rep. explained to us that for just $50 a month we would have access to lawyers that would help us with our case. Everything he explained and sounded great. We signed up for the $50 to be debited from our account (our first mistake).
We were contacted by a Charles Sarkus from who turned out to be not only rude but not personable at all. Father's CHoice wasted no time getting in contact with us and taking our money. But then we were quoted the price of the paperwork to be drawn up which was $845. We told them that we would not be able to pay that amount just yet but would save for it. They asked us if we could at least pay half and my husband told them that now was not a good time but that we would call them and let them know when.
I was pregnant at the time and after I gave birth on Jul 15 I was devasted to find out that Father's Choice had gone into our accout With Out our permission and debited $425!!!!
My husband called them and we were told someone would get back in touch with us but no one did. I called 15 times, my husband called 12 times. We left countless messages until finally I was put through to Charles Sarkus at 1-877-571-1481. He acted like the $425 was not a big deal. At one point he hung up on me during our phone conversation.
Finally after 2 weeks of playing phone tag with Charles Sarkus he called me back and it was agreed for our money to be returned. He said he would call us back that evening to start that process but didn't call us back again until one week later despite our many more phone calls to him. His receptionist tried to curse at my husband and took it upon herself to hang up on him as well. At no time did my husband or I raise our voices. WE were shocked that this company's attitude with us.
Finally, Charles Sarkus called me back on a voice mail I have saved on my phone to this day. He called me back on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 2:50pm and he went ahead and processed our refund of $425 plus upon our request cancelled our membership. We wanted Nothing to do with Father's Choice ever again.
Charles Sarkus told us it would take 2 months for us to get our money back and since then we have seen nothing. I called on Oct. 1st and a man named David told me that he was incharge of the refunds and he assured me that he would have the money sent out to my account on Oct. 9th and that we should get with 3-4 days. One week from Oct 9 still no money. I called and called and called and finally someone answered and we were told that it will take 7 days for our money to be in our account. Two weeks go by and nothing. Still nothing.
Finally, I call again almost in tears and I'm told that there is no one in the refund department and I'm asked to leave my number, name and email and told that someone will get intouch with me in one business day. Two business days later still no call or email. I call again and am told the same thing. THe last call I made to this company was 2 days ago and a woman took my phone call and was whispering to me. She told me that she could get in trouble if she is heard telling me what she is going to tell me. She told me that she was going to read me the notes that were entered on our account. It read that the refund Was approved but that it had Not been sent out yet! That means that All this time Father's Choice was lying to me telling me that they had sent our money when they had not! She also told me that she could not tell me when we would get our money! My husband and I are so hurt and disappointed with Father's Choice. THis company Stole our money!
With the economy so messed up we are hurting for our money back. It has been very hard and my bank is now threatening to close my account because the money that Father's Choice took out without our permission bounced 5 of our checks and that includes $33 penalty fees for each check. Right now as of today my account is Still overdrawn and the bank is being patient with my husband and I in depositing money as we can. It would be nice if Father's Choice could Just send us our money as they said they would and stop Cheating innocent people like us. They know that the people that go to them can not afford the really good expensive lawyers and this is why the cheat us and steal from us because they know that we can't afford to hire a lawyer to fight them. What ever you do stay away from Father's Choice. My husband and I would have rathered gone through the military and used those legal assets then to go with a Criminal lying company like Father's Choice! As soon as they get your money you don't hear from them again!

The name of the lawyer that stole authorized $ to be taken out of our account without our permission was not Charles Sarkus but was Charles Darkus. Also my husband dealt with a Tom Hutchinson who was No HELP at all and once again my husband has left over 15 messages on his voice mail along with my 30. This company is good at one thing and it's not helping people it's stealing your money. DON't Give them your debit account numbers they will take money from you without your permission over night and then you will spend months fighting for your money back just to not get your money back like us.

WOW, I received an email from a Jamie Gallagher last week stating that our money was IN PROCESS and scheduled to be credited to our account by the end of the week, which was last week and now we are 7 days from that email and nothing!!! My husband and I are not surprised. We reported Father's Choice to the BBB already and they are working our case.
We've informed all the members of our church. Thank God, our pastor actually announced it to the congregation for us. We have church members of 500 just for the morning service so between the morning and the night service we are satisified with being able to reach ALOT of people. Also, my husband has informed people at his work and I have as well. As of today I started informing the people who work at my daughters school. We are VERY upset about FATHER'S CHOICE not only stealing our money but now they are toying with us about us getting our money back. In an economy where people are losing their jobs THIS JUST SHOWS THAT FATHER'S CHOICE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO INTEGRITY. I doubt anyone there actually even has a legal degree! They work there because they can't get a job in a REAL LEGAL practice.
We are not asking for anything then what Father's Choice STOLE from US. WE USED ABSOLUTEY NOOOOOOOOOOO services from them that's what makes this even worse. My husband told no on the paperwork they wanted to do for us and they went ahead and took the money out of our money WITH OUT our permission. I have emailed customer service at Father's Choice every day this week and have gotten NO responce. But guess what until the day my husband and I see our money refunded AS PROMISED my husband and I have made it our business to post THE TRUTH about father's choice along with names of the theives and we tell everyone we speak to and our social network is very vast. FATHER's CHOICE are thieves and con artist and they will steal your money. Everyone has a right to know the truth about Father's Choice. Currently we are in the process of contacting the news networks too. No lie. The person I spoke with today over the phone was very interested in doing a story with us. And we are giving them everyone's names that lied to us starting with Charles Darkus and Jamie Gallagher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
