I received an e-mail from ACS that the "Internet Crime Complaint Center" is pressing charges against me for the amount of $986.45. I have 48 hrs. to pay over the phone at 1-925-271-6125 or the case will be "downloaded" against me.

Threats to inform my employer and charge me $4518.85 in fees not including bail or attorney fees.

What the H**l!

Scam

AUTHOR: TWSM - Southold (USA)

Scamola.

A big scam so don't worry about it.  Notice the other ripoff reports reported on this site about the same company.  Amazing how the amounts are similar/exact same.

Do some research on the internet on the Fair Debt Collection Practices act.  A link to the FTC pdf is here:
www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf

As an American you have a lot of protection against unfair debt collections practices.  Even if you actually owed the money an internet email and threats/calls to employers are not legal debt collection practices.
