The story started last summer when I recieved 2 bills from SKO Brenner after falling behind on payment plan set up by Beachbody. I took care of the bills on July 29, 2008, over the phone. The customer service agent gave me two confirmation numbers for a proof that I made a payment. Great was my surprise when the bills kept coming. I called in the beginning of September to address the issue. The costumer service rep I talked to this time said that there is no mention on my account that I have paid for these bills or that I was given any confirmation numbers. She asked me to mail them a proof of the transaction, which I did. I sent them copies of my checking account statement that clearly showed that above mentioned amounts were withdrawn from my account on August 1, 2008 by SKO Brenner. After receiving new bills from SKO Brenner in September, I called and asked if they received my letter. The customer service rep said that they have not received any letters from me...
By that time I just felt like giving up. I was very busy with various things and overwhelmed by financial hardship. I didn't call them any more and the bills just kept coming, month after month. I called the company once again few days ago and asked why am I still getting their letters stating that I still owe money to Beachbody. Again, the lady I talked to said that there is not mention of me making any payments to the company...
Shortly, I have never before had to deal with so many incomentent people. Clearly, somebody - and more than one person in this case - is not doing their job. I am just wondering - what will be the final outcome? Are they going to take me to court? The girl on the phone suggested I fax them the proof of my payment(s) this time. I typed a long letter, made copies and tried to fax it - the number they gave me was a phone number, I got the answering machine.
So, what am I to do? I am not surprised to read so many reports here about this company. I understand that collection agencies have their place, but trying to collect the same debt twice (or even more times as I have read here) is WRONG! This company should be forced to go out of business because of their questionable business practices!!!
