There was a hole in the canvas of this pop-up upon this customers return. The hole was caused when the customer did not pull the beds out correctly and opened the seam where the two ends of the canvas meet each other.
The shower curtain was in a cabinet below the sink the entire time this customer had the trailer and he was informed of that in the beginning of the rental. The sink was slow moving to drain but it was, in no way, stopped up or unuseable. The comode, which is a small toilet with a very small resevoir, worked fine. The customer had filled up the tank and did not know how to empty the tank out after use, although he was also shown this before leaving our lot.
We never heard about any problems during his rental, only when he returned did he inform us of the isssues and did not stay for a proper check-in of the vehicle. We called him back in to show him that it was working fine and this just made him angrier. We did not even charge him for the hole in the canvas since it was a simple sewing job to repair. At that point he told us it was unuseable and we explained that if he could not stay in it we would reimburse him for lost time if he had to stay somewhere else. This is when he claimed he stayed in a hotel. We asked him for the receipt to reimburse him and he said he would send us one.
A few days later we received a receipt from a small motel chain, but it did not look quite right. We called the hotel and they had no record of him staying there so we faxed his receipt to them and they sent us an example of their actual receipt. Long story short, his receipt was fake and made up on a computer. When we confronted the customer, he admitted that it was fake and that he did not stay in a hotel afterall. This customer was trying to get something for free from the beinning and is upset because he was caught in the process.
I run a very fair business and we follow our procedures the same way everytime to ensure that our customers have the best experience possible. We do sometimes have problems and have to resolve them in the best way possible in order to preserve a happy customer base but this instance is not one of those times. I will be glad to answer any concerns regarding this case or any other concerns that a new customer might have. I am the owner of the business and always available to answer questions on site.
