Kristin Boag is widely reputed to present herself as a travel journalist at RV Life Magazine in order to go on press trips, and to attend writers' dinners, both on the hosts' dime. She is neither a writer nor an editor at RV Life--she sells advertising for them. She has been told by several travel writers and editors that it's considered unethical for
advertising reps to attend writers' trips and dinners for the purpose of selling advertising, and that publications and/or their sales reps should be funding their own marketing.  It's also just plain annoying and distracting, as the professional needs of writers and advertising sales reps are different. This has evidently not stopped her.

Hosts of press trips and dinners often don't realize that she's an advertising sales representative until they've already paid her way and she's at the destination, pitching RV Life's advertising packages rather than taking notes to write a travel article. Boag claims that the magazine has a monthly print circulation of 100,000 and a very high internet hit rate as well.  Check with your own independent media auditor for verification of her statistics. They are believed by many to
be exaggerated.

Unfortunately, the owners of RV Life, Ron Knudson/Diesel Knudson and Toni Davis/Toni Knudson have been informed of Boag's conduct and do nothing to stop it. Disappointingly, that duo is said to be involved in their own questionable practices, such as pitching their multilevel marketing schemes including Noni Juice under various writing names in
their often scientifically unsound "Healthy Traveler" column in the magazine.
