I was contacted and said I could qualify for a loan up to 10k. I said I could use a 6k loan. Sharon Dunn told me the funds needed to aquire the loan would be 5 of the monthly payments up front. I told her i wasn't able at the moment but would get back to her when I could.

then received an email on 12/5 "I am Sharon Dunn from Sutherland Brokers and I have not heard back from you since being approved for a loan with our organization. The lender has reviewed your profile and has decided to offer you one of three options, which are: to lower the collateral down payment even further and for your convenience the deadline has been extended to Friday December 14, 2012."

When I called she stated the new amount would be $750.. and I said ok. Monday 12/10 I notified her that I was able to do the transaction and she emailed me someu documents to sign and had to fax them a copy of my ID, last pay stub, and how I wanted the funds sent to me, in which I did. After signing and sending everything thing in. she said to go to western union and and call her for the information.(and the amount actually was 760 not 750 as stated on the phone)
Once at western union I was given the name which I will withhold unless someone needs it.. but the money was person to person in Vancuver BC, Canada.

This made me very nervous but I went ahead with it and sent the money. After giving her the MTC number she said to call her back in 2.5 hours. During this time I tracked the transaction in Western Union waiting to see when it was picked up. After about 2 hrs. I did another google search looking for any fraud reports as I had done previously. This is when I came across a report sounding VERY much the same as me from here.

This made me very nervous so I was able to cancel the Western Union transaction BEFORE it was picked up. Maybe 30 mins later I got a call from Sharon and she said she saw I canceled and was in breach of contract and had till 8:30 to resubmit or they would file suit against me for 20% of the 6k loan amount. She said it did not matter that I had not received any funds and it was in the contract as a breach of such contract.

I will be filing a report with the BBC and FTC and Western Union.  I feel  I am very lucky and think  I would have been in the same boat as the previous persons report. Anyone have any ideas on how to protect myself from any actions they try against me ? Also after reading the contract again.. it actually stated required amount for the loan would be 5 payments which would be $950 even though the amount listed to be paid was $760.
