I bought tickets to "Tribute to Pavarotti" concert with the Florida Sunshine Pops Orchestra conducted by Dr. Thomas Cavendish.

The so called world conductor and artistic director orchestrated the stealing of ALL my private information.

Dr. Cavendish, or should I say Dr. f***up, had all my private information stolen.

What happened was, I paid for the tickets with my visa, and within the next few weeks I had fraudulent charges on my visa from all around the world and my email address was being spammed by every adult site from Europe to Florida.

Never in my 57 years have I felt so violated.

When I called the THE GOLD COAST OPERA, INC. Tom's wife Cheryl said that apparently the office computers had been infected with some kind of virus and all my information along with thousands of others was hacked. Some of my friends told me I shouldn't be upset and blame them, but it is completely irresponsible for them to store such sensitive information in such an insecure fashion.

As apposed to so called Maestro Tom Cavendish, my son runs a music business in Coral Springs, Florida and he jumps through hoops to follow compliance and store his customers information securely and pays consultants tens of thousands of dollars to ensure the safety of each and every credit card, name, address, and email. Knowing how cheap and primitive Thomas Cavendish is, this did not surprise me at all! Him and his cheap wife Cheryl probably where to cheap to even renew there $50 Norton...and now here I am.

I AM EXTREMELY UPSET. THOMAS CAVENDISH IS A RIP OFF SCAM MAESTRO. If you want to risk all your private information, just buy tickets to any of his boring and lame musical show.

TOM CAVENDISH YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!!!

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

In Defense of Thomas Cavendish

AUTHOR: RayD. - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, February 03, 2013

I understand your frustration. It's very annoying. Still I am compelled to come to their defense.

Many years ago I was a young opera stage director working out of California. I contacted Mr. Cavendish for an interview. He agreed and later engaged me to direct a new production of Madama Butterfly. The expereince was positive: the case was excellent, the support staff was fine, and I was given free-rein to do anything I wanted. I did things that worked and some that did not. He never complained. (Cheryl did though, and how! But I knew her to be a kind person from other things I had seen her do, so I forgave her. Lookin back, she was right. )

All and all it was a wonderful expereince for a beginning stage director.

Tom worked tirelessly. He taught lessons all day at a university then came and conducted rehersals and performances. I was astonished at how hard he had to work. It's not at all easy.

Running a opera company is impossibly hard. There is no profit margin, 1000's of egos, 100's of complaints from their audience. (Retirees) who often did not appreciate the quality of their product.

I am sure you do sir. I do not know the quality of the singers he engages now. I do believe he has an ear for good singing. Perhaps his budget is even smaller now.

I believe in my heart that Tom and his wife Cheryl would and will work this out for you. Give them time, I would assume they are swamped, or need any down time they can get. I'm sure it's quite possible their software is old, but please give them yet another chance. The fact that they are still doing opera after all these years (nearly 20) is astonishing to me.
