We were at Disney World Orlando Florida and we decided to go one day to Universal Studios.
We took a cab over from animal Kingdom lodge Disney World.
When we finally got to the ticket booth we seen the prices per person, My mouth dropped. What outrages prices for one day pass. I was going to walk and not pay those prices. For  four of us it would have been close to $500 dollars. My mother-In-law said she did not want to disappoint her grandson and decided to pay for all of us. She got the 2 park pass with the express line. It came close to $700 dollar for four of us. The problem with this is we got there at 11:00pm and the park closed at 7:00pm we didn't get to ride hardly any of the rides. For these prices we should have gotten a to day pass. I will never go back to Universal Studios again. I feel my Mother-In-Law was totally ripped off for what we got.  My Mother-In-Law is the sister of Billy Martin the past couch of the New York Yankee's  Pat Irvine. And we are going to spread the word to all of our family and friends about this park.

PS If they are  going to charge these kind of prices for a one day pass it should have been prorated for the amount of time. Our given us a two day pass.

universal studios

I don't think the man meant he should have gotten special treatment, but when it comes to big corporations sometimes a name gets their attention. (every hear the expression 'its who you know") I have been to Universal Studios in Orlando and I agree the prices are outrageous for what you get.  Not everyone knows to look on the computer for deals,  and not everyone should have to to get a fair price, not everyone has everywhere their going on vacation planned out..and as far as the Disney Club  come on you don't honestly think your getting a great deal on the food do you? you should not have to pay extra to join the dine club to get a fair price on your food. And as far as the Disney prices, yes their high too but I feel at least I'm getting my moneys worth. not so at Universal..

Talk About Outrageous

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 08, 2011

"..my Mother-In-Law is the sister of Billy Martin the past couch(?)coach of the New York Yankees. Talk about outrageous, go take a look at what the Yankees are CHARGING for tickets. Anywhere from $15 for nose bleed seats to $400 Per person, PLUS food and drinks. $700 for 4 people at Universal, comes to $175 per person, which is cheap tickets at a YANKEES ball.  MAYBE they'll PRORATE the price of a YANKEE'S ticket IF you get there at say the second inning. I'll spread the word about what a rip off the price of Yankees tickets are. What a tool.

No one cares who your mother-in-law is related to; that doesn't make her special or make her deserve special treatment.  She should be treated like everyone else.

Noone wants help

They just want to complain.  So stop trying to inject logic into a complaint!!

We just went to Disney 6 months ago and we our entire group (6 of us) got a 5 day park pass to any park at anytime for $210.00 each.  Now granted we printed coupons off the disney site, and took advantage of a AAA deal.

As for the food and stuff in the park.  Its expensive! no kidding! but again if you sign up for the Disney club you get alot of good stuff cheap, we ate every afternoon in disney and it only cost us about 10 bucks a person with drinks.  You also get discounts at all the vendors of 20% off anything, ice cream, drinks, etc.

Do some research next time, anyone who claims they didnt know Disney, or Universal is expensive is lying.

As for Universal its been a few years since we went there, but I do remember getting a discount there as well.   I think it costs each of us 59.99 for a day pass. and we got a free pass to the night club area (cant remember the name) for that night.

It took a while but it finally got to the "You must be an employee" response.  Well sorry to burst what ever imaginary bubble you are in but I do not now or ever have worked for Universal or any Theme Park.

There was NOTHING that "defends" their prices.  I just listed what the prices were and comparing them with Disney.  Because YOUR initial report was that you were staying at Disney but thought Universals prices were too high.  There was nothing about the prices of Disney being too high.  Only after you were caught in the facts that they are equivalent did you start on the "Well all prices are too high", and I am only doing this for people who can't afford it.

If you think they are too high then DON'T go.  Don't try and come here saying that in traveling from CA to FL you had no idea what the cost was before you went.  If you thought the cost was too high you wouldn't have gone in the first place.

Two day pass? Why stop there, why not a lifetime pass? Look, you knew what time of day it was when you got there. You knew what the tickets would cost. You didn't even pay for them. You knew what time the park closes.

Whose fault is it that you didn't get to ride as many rides as you wanted? Maybe they should have kept the park open additional hours for you, or kicked every other paying customer out so you can get to the front of every line?

Who cares who your mother in law is related to?

And before you accuse me of working for Disney, I live in China. Yes, your stupidity has traveled around the world. That's a pretty good accomplishment for such an ignoramus.

No defense

AUTHOR: Ramjet - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 07, 2011

I too read the rebuttals.  No one was defending anyone's prices.  The rebuttals merely corrected you erroneous comparisons.   You are indeed the jackass here because of your poor reading comprehension.

To be sure, ALL of the themes parks charge astronomical prices.  However, to say that most people cannot afford them is apparently not correct.  Many reports I have read complain about how crowded they are. Apparently many people at least think they can afford them.

Theme parks are expensive

POSTED: Tuesday, June 07, 2011

"The problem with this is we got there at 11:00pm and the park closed at 7:00pm we didn't get to ride hardly any of the rides."

You got there four hours after closing time. Maybe better planning next time?

Theme parks are expensive. You should have looked into the pricing and park hours before visiting. Expensive, yes--a rip off, no.

Why is it that when people don't get the answer they want they automatically use the the old "You must work for XXX".  That is just ignorant, as was your childish comment about kicking dirt in his face.  I think it is time for you to grow up.

Rip off at universal studios

AUTHOR: Lawrence - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 07, 2011

The Person above must work for universal studios he sure defends there prices. All the parks are outrages not only universal studios. And in this recession there is no call for it. Most family's can not go to any of the parks because of the outrages prices. Not only do they gouge you at the gate they gouge you with the food. At least at the LA park you can go out the gate and eat at Denny's.  I'm speaking for people that don't have that kind of money and can't ever afford to go. So mister universal studio rep. shove it.. And if my mother-in-law see you she will kick some dirt in you face.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong point

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 07, 2011

Yes if you get ONE park for ONE day the price for Disneyworld is $82, but the price I listed was for the Park Hopper(Multiple parks on the same day).  This is equivalent to the TWO PARK tickets you bought at Universal.

If you are going to try and compare the price of a single park ticket at one place with a multiple park ticket at another then to find the real "jackass" all you need to do is look in the mirror.

If you only wanted 1 Park at Universal the price would have been the same $82, and then the additional fee for the express pass which depending on your day would have been an extra $20-$60.  But again on the day you went I am sure it was closer to the $20.

Prices To High at Universal Studios

AUTHOR: Lawrence - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 07, 2011

I seen a rebuttal that you have posited before but to correct you. The prices per day at Disney world are only $82.00 dollars per person for one day. Also I will never go back to Disney world again Either. Disney LA is much better. And I think your a Jack a*s.

What?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 07, 2011

You were staying at Disney World and complaining about Universal prices?

All theme parks are more expensive if you only go for a day, they rely on the multi-day visitor.  Even though Disney has 4 Parks the Park Hopper Option is basically equivalent to the 2-Park Pass of Universal.

Disney 1-Day Park Hopper - $136 + tax
Universal 2 Park with Express Pass - $138 + tax.

The Univeral Ticket w/Express Pass could be up to $182 + tax depending on the date.  But those dates they will also not be closing at 7PM, so my guess is that you were closer to the $138 than the $182.  Note that the Express Pass is optional, if you don't want the express pass the price would have been $112 per person.

For these prices we should have gotten a to day pass.
- For only $22 more you could have gotten a 2 Day Pass.  Again the more days you go the cheaper per day it is going to be.  It doesn't matter if it is Universal or Disney.

PS If they are  going to charge these kind of prices for a one day pass it should have been prorated for the amount of time
- Go ask Disney to "pro-rate" their tickets based on time....see what they say.

My Mother-In-Law is the sister of Billy Martin the past couch of the New York Yankee's  Pat Irvine.
