I was boarding my Horse at Voight Farms until I discovered that she was almost starved to death!!! I have been paying $400 per month to Voight Farms (Jenny Voight and Jesse Voight) since February 2012.  The $400 was supposed to cover "extra" grain and her picture looks like she was barely fed anything.  The Voights had a legal duty to take care of my horse and what they did was criminal!

The worst part is that Jenny Voight told me that my horse looks great!!  Please do not trust these people with your most prized possession.  There are plenty of farms in central NJ that will actually take care of your horse.  The owner of the farm has been spray painting her own horse to cover up his ribs.  Do you really want her to take care of your horse like it was her own?

Response to Consumer Review

There is a big difference with an older horse not looking so great and being at least 100 pounds underweight!  I trusted Jenny Voight to take care of my horse and even paid her for "extra" grain.  The worst part was that I considered her a friend.  I was blinded by the fact that she was pocketing the money for extra grain while my horse was becoming emaciated.  Jenny will tell you that Gracie had bad teeth.  She had a vet check and there was no medical reason why she was underweight. She just needed more grain!  In fact, within 2 months of being removed from Voight Farms she had regained all of her weight.

Satisfied client of Voight Farm for last 6 years

I read your report and thought I would share my view. I've boarded my family's horses with the Voight family for over 6 years and I have had an excellent experience. This is a family run business but the owners do an excellent job in my opinion.

-They taught my daughter how to properly care for for her horse. And also how to ride safely and respect these beautiful 1000 lb animals;

-They've provided clean quarters for our animals and have fed and turned out our horses exactly how our agreement required them to. They've also gone above and beyond repeatedly whenever some special type of care was required;

-They've provided a safe and controlled environment for our horses to thrive within and have provided an equally safe and controlled environment for our entire family to ride our horses;

-For the adventurous, there are also many miles of farmland and wooded trails adjacent to the farm and all fair game for riding. The riding terrain at this farm is really pretty incredible in my opinion;

-When we are away for any extended period of time we always come back to horses that have been well cared for.

We are at the farm almost every day and see everything that goes on. I can say with absolute certainty that the suggestion that anyone is spray painting a horse at this farm to hide a horses ribs is ridiculous.

This is a horse farm with 50+ horses, its primarily a 4H style show barn with many different riders from varying age groups and varying styles of riding (English, Western, Show, Trail, etc). Its also a pretty neat group of people. The comraderie at this barn is exceptional in large part due to Jenny and Jessie Voight putting their hearts, minds and souls into everything that they do with the horses and their owners. They also know quite a bit about horses and you can see this in the condition of every horse at the farm.

Sure, there are a few rescues or older horses that may not look as sharp as some of the show horses at the farm but they are treated with equal care and respect if not more than the others. The Voights always share their knowledge with their tenants so boarding here is a lot of fun but also an ongoing educational experience. Jessie and Jenny are decent and simple down to earth fun loving people and I'm proud to say that I know them.

Whether its taking care of the day to day, throwing a barbecue at the farm for the boarders, taking a large group of kids to an English Riding Competition, participating in a community event like the fair or taking a group of adults to the beach to ride... the Voights go above and beyond for their clients always. BTW - as long as I've been boarding here there has been a waiting list for new customers. Why is that? Because its a great farm and also a great value.

This Ripoff Report is unjustified and should be removed immediately. This is a 3rd generation (I think?) family owned business that has earned its reputation for excellence through hard work and very good hospitality. Unfortunately the anonymity of the internet makes a complaint like this possible.

If you would like a real opinion regarding the Voight Farm experience from a real customer please feel free to contact me directly @ (((email redacted))). I will also be happy to provide my phone number for a discussion upon request. J
