I was interested in the Best Buy trade in program, because they offered me over $50 for the old nintendo DS. I have had the system for 4 years, and i figured i could get a gift card from best buy to buy some wii games. So last week i send in my DS and pre paid shipping cost. It arrive yesterday, and i get an e-mail saying that they didn't accept it because it didn't have the serial number sticker. The serial number sticker came off because i've had the console for 4 years, and sweat and use eventually took it off. I understood that they didn't want to accept it because it didn't have the serial number sticker, but the problem was that no where in their website it was stated that the serial number for the product had to be included. So i send them back an e-mail asking how i can get the product back, and this girl sends me back an e-mail telling me that i was going to be charged a fee for the shipment back to me. So i said, ok. When i get the e-mail back, it tells me that they were going to charge me for the free shipping when i sent in the item and the return cost, and its over $20 dollars including a tax fee. I have had such a sour experience with these guys, they have horrible costumer service. I have never felt so ripped off before, i have to pay $20 when its their fault for not stating that a serial sticker had to still be on a 5 year old console. They won't even compensate me for not knowing the serial number was needed, or for it being the first time i've ever had to deal with a trade in like that. And i even included the original box, original manuals, wrist strap, and even the recharger. But no, i needed the serial number. And now i have to choose to wether have the console recycled so they can make a profit from it, or pay over $20 for being taken advantage off.

Do not trade anything with the Best Buy Trade In program.
