My husband & I started in Oct.08 with the loan modification process,We had dual housingand have been paying on our home in illinoise since jan 08, our primary home is in cali and the home for sale has been on the market for 12-mos. with no prior balance due with late fees/or past balances, nor we upside down,we had over 100,000 in equity in the other home we were making every payment with no late fees ever,we also received a letter stating someone would contact us, they did not we had to go through several transfers, and countless hours on the phone with no resolution or anything solved,,We faxed/overnighted, We did everything they asked. We called, called, called, always a waiting game or wrong dept.or someone that has no clue or authority to do anything, its amazing how fast they can close a loan but they cannot help you resolve issues BEFORE IT ARRIVES such as our case,,funds were running out.due to the double mortgages (the relocation company bailed,due to budget).We just wanted the escrow removed, we could do the mtg which would be tight. The kicker is although we chose to have escrow added to our monthly bill so we did not have to worry about it at the end of the year, however since we had dual housing we needed to wait to pay the escrow since we had equity in the house we could pay it once it was sold, they agreed finally to take the payment of escrow off our mtg only and did in dec/08 & jan/09. they accepted it, we thought great! we still pay our mtg principal/interest, but our property taxes later during the sale since it was a option at the time of finanacing and had no bearings to do with our mtg payment other than choice, Well, They lied, Lied, lied,,they took the payment for the 2-months of mtg only, and we had no prior balance due nor were we late. well today I find out they are reporting us as 2-months behind to the credit bureau although we paid the mtg to them and the escrow had nothing to do with credit,,First and foremost I could not believe how rude they were, then I was transfered again, again, again. My husband & I take honor in our credit report and we have NEVER BEEN LATE WITH ANY MORTGAGES,WE BUSTED OUR BUTTS PAYING DUAL MTG for 12-months and they report us now,,and theri mtg was not even our primary mtg company. now they are reporting us late, and said our Jan/09 is in the 'UNAPPLIED ACCOUNT",,I cant believe they made us think we were safe to pay the mtg only if I had known it was going to be reported any CREDIT REPORTING AGENCY, I would have made a full payment or better yet, not pay it all since particial payments are considered just as bad on your credit,why try to do the right thing, it does not help,, although this was not a particial payment, it was for the interest/principal only/mtg payment. I feel really really bad for all those who have lost their jobs, because there is no-one to help. Banks get our money for bailouts then hoard it. IF I had known this was going to be reported, I would just give up,and not paid at all since it takes at least 6-mos to foreclose in illinois or longer, who cares your credit is ruined any ways,whether you pay a partial payment or at all, however our house did sell. finally this month we will close and I will NEVER bank with citi again. the whole process was crazy although all documentation was proven for a hardship prior to us even being in the rears. we were paying 7k a month but doing it and on time we were just needing help because our savings was running out. I cant imagine those who lost their job and need immediate assistance, as we have never received a call from anyone in the modification dept, they never even helped with the change of date of payment until jan.30. we asked for a payment change in Oct.08 since both mtgs were due on the same date. that was not even taken care of until Jan 30/09 and they would only allow us to pay up until the 20th, 15th-20th month, although i had asked for the 25th, when my husband got his 2nd check for the month. I can see why there are so many foreclosures. Im hiring attorney to dispute the credit report since we did pay our mtg and I know they will not accept partcial payments, so why did they accept our mtg only if they agree to clear the escrow?? They said if it was not in the repayment plan document about the escrow, they should have not taken the payment, so this is our fault? They finally sent a repayment plan, modification, Feb.9. it was a partial payment plan although it was never signed agreed too, they said since i made the payment to them on jan.30 that had nothing to do with the escrow, so we still would be reported as late for 60-days. UNREAL!! WE NEED TO FIGHT BACK, ANYONE INTERESTED IN DOING A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, THEY ASK FOR BAILOUTS, WHICH IS OUR MONEY, THE TAXPAYERS MONEY! MONEY THAT SHOULD OF CAME TO THE PEOPLE WHO PAY TAXES, NOT A BUNCH OF CEO'S THAT OVER-PAY THEMSELVES. THEN WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO HELP THEM OUT, THAT MONEY SHOULD OF BEEN SENT OUT/DIVIDED AMONG THE TAX-PAYERS, WHO WOULD START SPENDING AGAIN, totally frustrated! I FEEL FOR EVERYONE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. THERE IS NO HELP! AGAIN, HOW CAN THEY LOAN SO FAST BUT THEY CANNOT SEEM TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM FASTER? THAT IS WHY OUR COUNTRY IS A MESS, AGAIN, WE DID WHAT WAS SAID TO BE SAFE, START EARLY, LET THEM KNOW. THANK YOU GOD FOR SELLING OUR HOME. CITI HAS BEEN HORRIBLE. WHERE IN THE HELL IS YOUR LOAN OFFICER THE ONE SO HAPPY TO GIVE YOU THE LOAN. AMAZING THERE IS NEVER A NAME OF A PERSON ASSIGNED TO YOU OR THEY CAN NEVER BE REACHED! THEY ARE LIARS!
