Anthony has contracted me as a freelance programmer to build him a website called
http://startleap.com . The cost was about $4,000. He has paid via paypal so I thought I was safe and I thought the build went well. Shortly after delivering the code to him via email I was contacted via pay pal that he has disputed the charge on his credit card.
See if Anthony uses the credit card via pay pal, I can not dispute the charge back to the credit card directly. And Pay Pal just goes along with what ever the the credit decides. So there is no opportunity to dispute the false claim and he is awarded all his money back.
Anthony knew this little fact and was quite cleaver in getting all his money back. Anthony will tell you he is rich beyond your wildest dreams, he will tell you he has friends at pay pal and in the IT business and he will destroy your business if you don't cooperate with him to get his money back. He will contract you, he will threaten you, your business and what ever else he can think of to bully you. He will tell you that he knows the CEO of pay pal and he will steal all your money. I don't know if he is friends with pay pal CEO although I doubt it. He has however, found a way to get free website via pay pal.
He claims to be a big software mogul in order to seem respectable and lull you into your comfort zone where you won't expect a scam coming.
What erks me is that towards the end of the build when he did all of this, he knew my brother and my mother both died tragically. I organized 2 funerals and was quite short on cash and time. I worked tirelessly night and day to deliver on time and according to spec in order to pay for the funerals. As an independent operator my small business has all but shut down because $4000 is a big hit. Like I said, he knew all of this and chose to rape me anyway.
Oh yes, his site is live and working as promised.
