Before hiring Ironside Foundation Services in the state of North Carolina, It is CRITICAL that you read the following:
--The owner of Ironside is Scott Anderson. Scott owns Tri-State Basement Systems in Barre Vermont. Scott has had several failed Businesses and has filed Backruptcy for hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt from these failed businesses. In 2009, Tri-State Basement Systems is involved in several lawsuits regarding questionable business practices. There are several homeowners that EVERY North Carolina homeowner MUST contact prior to having this company step foot on your property.
1)Neil Gardner-319 Marble Island Rd,Colchester Vt.--(802)864-9586/655-6371-The Gardner's had wall anchors installed on their wall as well as a expensive waterproofing system. To date, Their foundation wall collapsed. They have NOT had any "warranty" work and had to fix the outrageous cost themselves. The warranty being offered by Anderson and Ironside is solely warranted by them. If they go out of business, you LOSE!
2)Harry & Sally Picard-20 Coppergate Rd,East Granby, CT 06026-The Picard's are a retired couple who retained their family's home in Grand Isle Vermont. The Picard's remodeled the lake front home and purchased a waterproofing system that was sold to them to remove all the water and moisture from their basement. They have been through a self described "Nightmare" and luckily had protection through their credit card company. It is reported they received all their funds back.At the time of this report, they are seeking other customers for a "class action" lawsuit.
3)Wayne and Virginia Mann--894 State Rt 32 Wallkill, New York (845)564-3921--The Mann's hired Anderson to install foundation anchors in their home. Anderson's crew did NOT install all the anchors and demanded they get payed before completing any cleanup and left the homeowner with a partially anchored basement. The Manns filed a complaint against Tri-State Basement Systems with the Better Business Bureau.(Tri-State Basement Systems is NOT a member if BBB as of the time of this report)
4)James and Jenny Matthews--674 Dorset Hollow Rd, Dorset Vermont-(802)867-2421--The Matthews hired Anderson to do extensive work at their Dorset Vermont New Home. At the end of the job, OUTRAGE!
5)Mike Sears-447 Oak Circle Colchester, Vermont--(802)655-3253--Mr Sears was a long time Sales Manager for Tri-State Basement Systems. Mr Sears was injured while on a Jobsite and after going to the emergency room and being found disabled, that Anderson's Workmans Compensation insurance had been canceled for aprox 2 months. Mr Sears is permanently disabled as a result of that injury, and has not received any compensation as well as amassing thousands of dollars of unpaid hospital expenses. At the time of this report, Mr Sears is in the process of a civil lawsuit with Anderson and the Homeowner who's house he was in at the time of the injury. This type of activity Appears to be common with Anderson as evident in #6.
6)Longtime employee Chris Plante has filed a lawsuit (pending) against Anderson's company as he alleges that Anderson terminated his employment after Plante pre-sold tens of thousands of dollars of commissions owed him. Plante was terminated, and told that he had signed a "no compete" agreement. Other allegations are pending in this large lengthy lawsuit.
    These are only a partial list of customers who hired a contractor to repair their home and have had a nightmare. The homeowner complaints, together with a pattern of financial mis-management by Anderson should Scare every homeowner to call each one of these people and ask questions. Your foundation of your home is NOT something you can afford to take risk or chance with a contractor who has filed Bankruptcy, has a pattern of abandoning the homeowner after payment and does not carry insurance REQUIRED by law to protect his employees as well as the person(s) whose home he is doing the specified foundation work. ***BUYER BEWARE!***

The records speak differently then what this author tells. I have NOT and will NOT be filing any bankruptcy. Point is he dosent have a clue what he speaks of. Also there is only one lawsuit not several. Again no clue.

All of the customers he listed where either his own or the person mentioned in #6 either way I publicly apologise to these customers for entrusting what turned out to be in capable people to handle their accounts. We have changed our hiring procedure to weed out these incapable people, its amazing how well it is working.

Current and future customers are welcome to contact me for more information, I have documentation to disprove his claims, it is simply a discrunteled employee.

In response to mr Andersons explanation it becomes necessary to let consumers know the truth regarding his handling of customers and employees.

Mr Anderson states in his rebuttal "I have never filed Bankruptcy and do not intend to file bankruptcy". The fact of the matter is that Scott Anderson filed bankruptcy in federal bankruptcy court in Rutland Vermont on 09/08/00. Scott Anderson was doing business under 3 different company names. Lairco Supply, Bycomp svcs,Northeast Manufacturing. Reported assets were $17,209.18 with liabilities of $287,971.32. This CLEARLY shows who is not telling the truth.

In regards to Tri-State Basement Systems involvement in many Lawsuits.They are involved in a lengthy lawsuit with Chris Plante. Mr Plante states in countersuit that he is owed aprox 50,ooo in lost wages and as well as other unspecified damages.

David Aubit-(802-356-7762) is a owner of Advanced Basement Technologies who are a very large a reputable competitor of Scott Andersons, states that his company is involved in a lawsuit regarding defamation of his company and unfair business practices. That lawsuit has been ongoing for several years and involves hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages according to Aubit. There is another 2 lawsuits that this author has learned about that have been newly filed or are intended by the Plaintiffs.There was also a gentleman by the name of Spade Cooley who co-signed for Mr Anderson on a business loan. Mr Anderson did not pay the loan back and Mr Cooley was stuck with the loan. I think that puts the issue to rest of who's lying without bringing up any more names.

Fact--Tri-State Basement Systems has gone without Worker's compensation Insurance for MONTHS at a time. There has been at least 1 instance where a employee was permanently disabled and Tri-State had no insurance and left the employee to SUE THE HOMEOWNER. That's a fact!

Please contact the individuals listed in the original letter. Mr Anderson claims that he would "bend over backwards" to keep a customer happy. Please call the individuals and ask them to explain their contact with Scott Anderson. It was Mr Andersons greed and incompetence that caused the issues with their situation.

In closing, I would recommend ALL homeowners call The first 4 people on the original report and ask them if Scott Anderson "bent over backwards" and ask them their story in regards to Scott Anderson's credibility. Also I would suggest calling David Aubit, he is the President of the Largest and most reputable basement waterproofing company in Vermont/New Hampshire. 802-356-7762.

This is why it is tough to own a business, because the employees THINK they own you, and try their best to:

First David Aubut:  Worked a Tri State for less than 6 months, decided to take "vacation" so he got paid  to go and learn the competitors basementsystem, came back and began his own buiness- He is a LIAR, CHEATER, and has no morals.  He bit the hand that fed him.

What do you call a long time employee, less than a year of employment for Mears, and Chris Plante.  By the way Chis again biting the hand that fed you quite well.....going to work for Aubut once you were caught and warned not being where you were supoose to be for how many times?????? 

Geez you mention 4 customers that were unhappy, I am quite sure the Happy customers list is much longer, but lets not mntion that..... TSBS has been in business for over 10 years and still going strong, it is a VT family owned and operated business and takes pride in their workmanship and cusomer service

By the way a long time employee are ones hat last loner than 2yrs, dodo!!!!  There are plenty of them their, check the web site for the facts and not a disgruntled ex employee that is looking to have a business take care of his early retirement, this is what has helped bring America to its economy trouble.. EX employees who think they are owed something because they do not disclose their "back troubles" upon hiring!

I have a TSBS in my house for over 10 years and is still a dry happy customer :)

Scott must be drinking again.........

Anyone who just read that rebuttal by "Business Owner" you should know that that is Scott Anderson posing as somebody else. I want to point out to you that Anderson NEVER once addresses the original facts and the peoples basements that were either destroyed or severely damaged because of his alcoholic boozing and failing to supervise any employees.
-The fact that Anderson screwed Vermont families of the business owners out of $284,971 when he filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy not only was denied by Anderson at first, but now all he can do is attack former employees. Notice he does not address his lies when he is actually caught. What a honest Business owner!
-Notice he does not address the Gardner home on Malletts Bay ave in Colchester, Tri-State Basement Systems caused the Gardner's to spend over $70,000 to repair the home when Tri-State took a jack hammer to their footings and destroyed the structural integrity of the home.Before I hired them, I would contact the Gardner's and ask "what happened" and specifically ask them how Anderson responded to the disaster.
-Notice how Anderson does not address the Picards home in Grand Isle. The Picard's are a senior couple who live in Ct and have a summer home in Vermont. (802-372-4204 ;860-653-7465) They had Tri-State install a waterproofing system, instead, they had their foundation trashed. Anderson went and looked at it and tried to strong arm them to just accept it the way it was. Thankfully, the Picard's have a "FRAUD" clause attatched to their Mastercard and were able to get a full refund! CALL THE PICARD'S AND ASK THEM TO DESCRIBE SCOTT ANDERSON'S BUSINESS PRACTICES!
-Notice how he doesn't address Wayne and Virginia Mann's foundation? He doesn't care that his company half assed the foundation wall anchor job. The Mann's will tell you that it was like dealing with a mobster. Anderson argued with them to the point of yelling at them because they wouldn't pay him for a job that was not completed as described. CALL THEM BEFORE HIRING THIS COMPANY!
-Notice how Anderson does not explain that he decided to go to Las Vegas and drink him self to be smashed the whole time.(at one point he staggered and fell on his face in the middle of the casino) all this while his employees were working with NO WORKER'S COMP INSURANCE TO PROTECT THEM! When a employee gets hurt and is permantly injured, it's a "early retirement" as he called it!

There is 14 -16 names and many other reports with names of people popping up every day that are talking about what happened to them. These people had their basement destroyed, damaged or were taken for several thousand dollars. There was families of companies that were "ripped off' of over $280,000 in which Anderson blew off in a Bankruptcy. This is a pattern. Also is a pattern of Anderson probably drinking and posting his "empty" rants that do not address the people that his company has damaged or ripped off.

Before you spend one dime with this person who has had his business handed to him by his Daddy, call the people who are on this list.Ask the Realtor's at Berg, Carmolli and Kent about the Greed of Scott Anderson.

You do not state the facts and you make untruthful accusations, so you really think these people want to have their names, locations, and phone #'s plastered on the internet like this?

Mr. Anderson let himself be heard above so  don't think this is him~ You just don't know everything your just another so called American that is looking for a quick fix to your troubles by going after a small business owner

By the way did you have to pay your way to Las Vegas????

Get on with your life it just didn't work out between you and Tri State Basements!

First---Scott Anderson states that he never filed bankruptcy.................LIE!!!
     $287,971.32 is the total amount that Scott Anderson RIPPED OFF Vermont families for!! It is public record...He is obviously incompetent!

Second--Scott Anderson states he isn't involved in any lawsuits.............LIE!!!!
      Knucklehead is involved in a lawsuit with Berg, Carmoli and Kent--A lawsuit with Chris Plante--A lawsuit with Advanced Basement Technologies-just to name a few...
Tri-State Basement Systems IS NOT a member on Better Business Bureau!!

Simple!!!...........He RIPPED OFF Senior Citizens, Homeowners and good people and had so many complaints that he stopped his membership...........

AS to the LIE about Tri-State had no worker's Compensation Insurance----LIE!!!!!
   Tri-State Basement Systems had no worker's compensation insurance for almost 4 months....That means every homeowner was at risk of a lawsuit should a worker been hurt! ...............................................Either you are drinking some kind of kool aid or your on your knees in front of the alcoholic dude!!
--And as far as the employee that was hurt??? He DID NOT PURSUE A COMPLAINT FOR COMPENSATION NOR DID HE PURSUE A COMPLAINT WITH 2 VERMONT AGENCIES AGAINST THE COMPANY! SO WHEN YOU RUN YOUR MOUTH ABOUT WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT MAYBE YOU SHOULD CRAWL BACK IN YOUR HOLE YOU CAME OUT OF-------LOSER!!!

--As far as the people on the internet with their names and numbers...They all were asked and AGREED to tell any other customer about their experience with Tri-State Basement Systems......Maybe if you had $70,000 worth of damage like the Gardner's of Colchester, Vermont,(((Redacted))) you would welcome a reference call.......Ya Think?
--Maybe the elderly folks from Grand Isle, Vermont (((Redacted))) who spent nearly $14,000 on a waterproof system for their basement only to find out it was installed HORRIBLY! The workmanship was that of the worst "Hackjob" that they had ever seen! Even after a visit from the alcoholic him self Scott Anderson, who then tried to "Strong-Arm" them as he wouldn't admit it was shoddy! They were able to get ALL of their $14,000 back because of a "FRAUD" clause on their credit card! YOU DON'T THINK THEY WOULD MIND TELLING THEIR STORY--DO YOU?

What about Anderson's big land purchase? Why does Basement Systems founder Larry Janesky's wife own it now? I'll tell you why----INCOMPETENT!!!

In closing to Anderson or whoever you are--Anderson "DID" have the business handed to him by his Daddy!! Go blow smoke up someone else's butt!!!

The comments posted were NOT by a former disgruntled employee! They are a representation of us customer's who were RIPPED OFF! After all, this site is for US to tell other unsuspecting homeowner's to BEWARE!
How can Tri-State Basements DARE say anything after calling the customer's it is crystal clear that they are dishonest..I called the Gardner's in Malletts Bay, Vermont who told me that Tri-State damaged their foundation wall footings while trying to put in their waterproofing piping...they couldn't fit the piping so they broke the footings with a big rotary hammer. The wall started to give way and they put steel plates on the wall attached with steel rods...THE WHOLE WALL COLLAPSED! Mr Gardner has over 100 pictures and is planning to file a lawsuit against TriState.
I find it amazing that Anderson (owner) can treat former employees the way he does.
---Why so many complaints?
---Why is Anderson so rude?
---Why is Anderson Lying? He DID file bankruptcy....
                                    He did to the Gardner's what it says!
                                    He did to the Picard's what it says!
                                    He did to the Mann's what it says!
     I called these nice folks and it seems that they all tell the same story! A belligerent owner (Anderson) who is angry and sounds desperate.....What a shame!
I am a Real Estate agent in Southern Vermont who has received a few estimates from Tristate basements and I have always hired another contractor. They were extremely expensive. I find this forum disturbing that any reputable business would engage in such a way to make a baboon out of himself.
I'm embarrassed for him. What a fool.

First---Dave the Dog going out of business? Ha! Dave"s company is BOOKED for 6 weeks with 2-3 crews working...Tri-State Basement Systems has LAYED OFF all production employees and has NO WORK! (Great management by Scott/Ginny and the idiot in the office!)
Let"s talk about Anderson's mis-management of a company.....Shall We?

--Tri-State Basement Systems was just sued by their supplier--Grip Tite and Anderson LOST! Grip Tite was awarded over $70k in damages...Great job Tri-State staff!

--Tri-States entire production dept has approached "Dave the Dog" for work because Anderson is too incompetent and has such a HORRIBLE reputation. EVERYONES LAID OFF!!.......Great job Tri-State staff!

--More and more people are SCREAMING because their basement leaks and your IDIOT LIAR in the office is too stupid to tell people the company is on the brink of collapse!.................Great job Tri-State staff!

-Buzzi's Garage in Barre has one of Tri-States big trucks and has had it for months! They will not fix it or release it because --in his own words.."Anderson owes me a ton of money"..........................Great job Tri-State staff!

--Tri-State has no service manager, their old one Brenda Timmons, is GONE! All calls to the company have gone unanswered by people who have issues with Tri-States garbage system.........Great job Tri-State staff!

Tri-State is on the verge of total collapse and "Dave the Dog" isn't going to buy that broken down disaster of a company....You all LOSE! You all deserve a taste of what you have put other people through!.........Great job Tri-State staff!

--Anderson owes EVERYONE in town and the state thousands of dollars...he on't pay...He made a agreement to pay Chris Plante $20k by the end of this month...He will screw him out of it like he did to everyone else!....Great job Tri-State staff!

You people thought you had the world by the ass and the good guys won! "Dave the Dogs" reputation is SPOTLESS. That is evident by the fact that he is servicing countless Tri-State systems for the homeowners! Hahahahahahahhaha...Anderson has homeowners posting their stories all over the internet and they will be doing the same to warn the good folks of North Carolina...Anderson RAN AWAY to North Carolina....he WILL be filing Bankruptcy...................you'll see!!!!...Great job Tri-State staff!

 I used to work for Tristate Basements. They have a idiot for a owner. I happen to no for a fact that he was given the company by his father. Scott never worked a day when i was there. Everybody i knew that worked there was fired or quit. Allot of them were takin advantage of. Allot of basement customors are really mad. One of the guys hit a natural gas line and never told the people who live there...where was the owner, Scott??....He was drinking somewhere as usaul...Scott can't care about any of us..

I also know for a fact that they were evicted from there building...They are moving to a crappy little shack that his Daddy owns....If it wasn't for his Daddy, Scott would be a janitor somewhere. They did this to themselves.
