Laura Shapiro Kramer - Uncommon Voyage - Plagiarism New York New York

Laura Shapiro Kramer is a respected and well-known author. How could she plagiarize a personal memoir which Uncommon Voyage is? Did she make up her son and his cerebral palsy?
She was Chair of Resources for Special Needs for ten years and continues to serve on the RCSN Board as Chair Emerita.

Laura is founder and Chair of the Advisory Board of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Greater New York. Her fellow Advisory Board members include Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Mira Nair and several prominent doctors.
Laura serves on the Advisory Board of New York City Outward Bound Center that operates 11 small Gates funded schools in New York City.
Laura is currently writing a new book and collaborating on a safety project.

Unfortunately, there was a dispute about the Albyon Project but it was amicably settled and Laura retained the right to make a film.

In this rebuttal which Laura Shapiro Kramer answered herself, she claims to be a "well known author", the truth is she is HARDLY know by anyone and is totally SELF PROMOTING.

"Chair" of Resources for Special Needs is a position Laura Shapiro Kramer created for herself. Nobody elected her to anything.

Shapiro Kramer, the plagiarist, mentions in her rebuttal "Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Mira Nair and several prominent doctors". She thinks by mentioning famous people's names this is going to give her some kind of prestige. Laura Shapiro Kramer is UNKNOWN, UNREAD and SELF PROMOTING.

She also has had a life long drug habit which continues. She self promotes herself all over the internet trying by any means to give importance to herself. What she does best is steal other's work and try to put her own name on it. Laura Shapiro Kramer is fake, all of her work is plagiarised and that is a fact. When she was sued she responded by countersuing Miriam Abramowicz, who is a prominent and well known film maker, who sued her for trying to steal her work. Once again Laura Shapiro Kramer tried to capitalize on other's talents. She couldn't even own up to what she had done. Laura Shapiro Kramer is bad news for any organization, they should check her background and give her a drug test before allowing her to participate in any activities. Her "uncommon voyage" book was mostly put together by some people she hired to write that book for her. Many of the parts of that book are fabricated. Someone should do further investigation of this and bring Laura Shapiro Kramer to justice.

Laura is one of the worst plagiarists I had ever met. She was a member of our synagogue and many times tried to steal other's ideas, take credit for people's contributions and wanted to be president of every group in the synagogue by forcing her way in.

She is loud, agressive and untrustworthy. She constantly uses her son's disability to self-promote herself but people know what she really is.

Most people in the synagogue kept clear of this woman as when she gets angry she threatens people with lawsuits since her husband (used to be) a lawyer but he was disbarred for some funny business and she still has it in her mind that she is able to get free legal help from him.

Any books she claims to have written are copied, plagiarized or written by people she had paid to do the work, she does none of it herself, as she is ususally high on drugs during the day.

She is a poor miserable soul and our best advice is to keep away from her.

It's really a coincidence that I came upon this report. I attended the same Yoga classes as Laura Shapiro Kramer at a very well known Yoga Institute in New York.  She was terrible to the instructors, insisted they do everything she said, and disrupted every class I went to.  She always smelled like she had just smoked a joint and was all over the younger guys in the classes.  She was probably at least 50 at the time and she was going after these guys who were like 25 years old.

She was bossy, unliked by everyone and only talked about herself and her plans.  Never a kind word or a compliment to ANYBODY.

I recently learned that she has been evicted from her apartment, and it doesn't surprise me because she was always asking people for money but then bragged about all of the money her husband made.

Funny how people end up getting back what they dish out.

What a small world. Amazing what you come across on the internet. I used to be a member of B´nai Jeshrun when I lived in New York City and had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Laura Shapiro Kramer at our Shul.

She was an absolute nightmare for the congregation, demanding her way always, many times showing up at services on Friday nights and high holy days drunk and stoned with a strong smell of marijuana on her clothes.

Constantly bragging about her book, who everybody in the congregation knew that she paid people to write for her and much of it paraphrased from other important books on the subject of dealing with a disabled child.

Furthermore she tried to steal the professional work of a well known and highly respected filmmaker and member of our congregation and claim that she made a film. She tried to play the victim saying she was "suffering" over the loss of her friendship with Myriam Abramawicz the noted filmmaker. However all Laura was looking for as always was to be in the spotlight and plagiarize other's works.

She was constantly talking garbage behind the backs of the other congregation members, and leadership of the shul saying they were dumb and fat and had no vision.

Well Karma is certainly an equalizer, Laura lost her house, moved to a rental apartment from which she and her husband were later evicted, and her lawyer husband no longer makes any money. I recently heard she was living in a basement apartment in Brooklyn. Not that there is anything wrong with that but she was always so high on her horse.

Laura maybe now that you are old and totally wrinkled, you can look back at all the damage you have caused people in your life and maybe change, even at 70 years old there is still hope for you to be come a mensch!
