Due to the matters that went down with Mr. Jon, Galaxie now
has all customers sign their return policy before any items are purchased or
ordered as to have a clearer understanding as to what the customers rights are
if they happen to make a mistake in ordering products from Galaxie. Our return
policy is pretty clear and fair when it comes down to it and is as follows. “In-stock items that are stocked in (Galaxies) warehouse can be returned within 30
days for a 100% cash refund. After 30 days, in store credit for 100% of the
items value will be issued to Galaxies customer. Special order items not
stocked in (Galaxies) warehouse with a value of $500 or less can be exchanged
for 100% in store credit to be used towards a new fixture. However,
Non-Stocking items over $500.00, Galaxie does not keep for display and returns
them back to the factory as in Mr. Jon’s case where he didn’t order a In Stock
item that we carry in our store which we were faced with return charges that
are, 25% to the factory, 20% Freight costs, and 5% handling which equals the
50%”.
The
misunderstandings that led to Mr. Jon’s false statements and complaints about
Galaxie could have been avoided if he would have taken the time to understand the job
himself, or to possibly even had Galaxie research the codes in his project
area to discover that the fixtures needed lens covers to pass, which we would
have gladly done for him. What Mr. Jon failed to mention is that Galaxie went
back to the manufacturer and was able to get them to wave the restock fee and
therefore refunded back to Mr. Jon the full amount with Galaxie eating the
freight and handling costs shipping them back to Chicago.
Mr. Jon was nice in working things out after he was given
his way on a full return but became impatient and aggressive then the check
refund didn’t arrive when he thought it should as we were trying to work out
the returns that took time to resolve.
Galaxie has been in the lighting industry since 1972 and
strives to make every customer happy in every way. I wish it could have gone
better for Mr. Jon but unfortunately every personality and case is different.
