my 17 yr old son and his friends rented a limo from somerset limo for ther junior prom night on march 15 2008 they were to have the bus from 12am to 8am for which they paid 1680.00.they were picked up in front of my home as the parents dropped them off.well of course the old familiar tactic is to try and sneak alchol on bus and bribe the driver like all kids do for which it failed for them and what ever was sneaked on was removed from the bus at the request of the driver and chapparone(which by the way was not requested by the client) to have a chapparone.they got off to a late start and were heading for the hamptons to meet another bus which turned out to be going to the city instead.but they still decided to take a drive out there.2 of the kids needed to be home by 4am and since they didnt reach manorville till 2am they decided it was no point in going further due to the kids who needed to be home so they returned back to my home to wait out side for there mom to pick up the 2 kids.they had told the bus driver he could leave and come back in an hour for them in which he had given them his cell# to call for when they needed to be picked up.well low and behold the driver never answered his phone and these kids were left stranded on the street with no where to go. they were all freezing and tired.they started to walk around to try and stay warm and eventually walked to a diner to sit and eat and warm up.

when i called the company to find out why these kids were left alone and no one was notified they did not call me back till the next day trying to tell me they had a whole list of why they didnt return for these kids.saying they were smoking on the bus being rude and that when they dropped them off they said that they knew they were going to drink the alcohol that was left behind and would be drunk and they said it was stated in the contract if they were unrully the service would terminate for which they were not.it
also stated they were not alowwed to leave the kids alone until a parent arrived after the phone call was made.they created a bunch of lies to cover there screw up by stranding 20 minors on a street at 3am in the morning alone.i feel under no circumstances should these kids have been left alone for 1 second they were 15,16,17 yrs old.and they refuse to compensate this kids for ruining there prom night and gave them a taste of how there can be really nasty people out there to take advantage of kids.so hopefully people will be aware of this company and stay clear they do not honor there contract or offer anything in return to compensate for the screw up.

Under Age Drinking & Smoking during a Prom Night

AUTHOR: Somerset Limo - Massapequa (U.S.A.)

We arrived at 125 Ward Street, Westbury to pickup children for an after junior prom call. When we arrived we spoke with Donna (a parent) who paid us for the services of the vehicle. We advised Donna that there will be no tolerance for Drugs, Alcohol or anything else illegal. She agreed with us and told us that they were a good bunch of kids. We also told Donna's husband that if the children got off the bus in any other place but their planned destination or their house their services would be terminated. Donna was also told that if the children were dropped in any other location other than the place of pickup she would be called to come and retrieve the kids. Donna stated that the reason she rented out the bus for the evening was to prevent the kids from drinking and driving. Again, it was explained that there would be no tolerance of drinking on the bus and if there was, the services would be terminated.

Once the rules were explained, we waited for almost 45 minutes for the kids to board the bus before leaving. During this time, both the Driver and Chaperone, watched as the kids in pairs were going back and forth into the side yard and drinking. The kids then decided to bring snacks and alcohol aboard the bus. After searching the bags both Driver and Chaperone had to remove alcohol from the children. Prior to the departure the Driver was approached by two of the boys tring to bribe him with money so they may bring alcohol aboard the bus. Witnessing this I heard the Driver tell the boys both times "No amount of money will let you drink and me lose my license." The boys disgrunted got off the bus.

Well it was finally time to leave. Before the bus departed, the rules of no smoking, no drinking, etc., were explained to the kids. We asked the kids where we were going, and we were told drive out east, as they were planning to meet another bus load of prom goers, this is what we did; As we were heading out east, they stated to us that they wanted to be back in Westbury at the location of pickup by 4AM. We obliged. We then drove east as far as Smithtown approximatedly 2-3 miles past the Smithtown Mall, when we had to stop and turn around, so we could be back in Westbury by 4:00 am. During this time the kids trashed the bus leaving it full of garbage and half eaten food all over the floors, as wll as end soda cans, broken plastic cups, etc. After driving around aimlessly and stopping five times for cigarette breaks. We then arrived back in Westbury at approximately 4AM. We arrived back at 125 Ward Street and the kids yelling "Let's Party, Alcoho.l" They all proceeded to get off the bus to obtain their alcohol left on the side of the house of 125 Ward Street. We by no means left the kids stranded or in harms way. We dropped them off at the location at which we picked them up at.

On Monday morning March 17, 2008, we spoke with Donna and tried to explain the events of the evening to here over here yelling. It was explained to Donna that the kids at their request were dropped off back at 125 Ward Street at approximately 4AM. She wanted to know why no one called her to tell here. We explained to here that she was told before the evening started that if the kids got off the bus in any other location then their agreed destination that their call would be severed. Since we dropped them back off at 125 Ward Street there was no reason to call here because that was the place of pickup. She then stated to me that the kids wandered the streets until 8AM the next morning. I stated to here if the kids were not doing anyhing wrong then why were they wandering the streets till 8AM and not home being that is where we let them out.

It was also explained to Donna that according to the signed contract that if there was evidence of alcohol found on the bus the call was to be immediately terminated. We found alcohol aboard the bus before leaving. We had it removed and we still allowed the call to continue. Donna was upset that we would not allow the children to drink and smoke on the bus. It was explained to Donna, that if the parent's want to condone their childrens actions, than they should let their children smoke and drink at home and not rent a limousine bus for them to do it on. It is illegal.

Mother allows kids to drink alcohol on side of house

AUTHOR: somerset limolusine - smithtown (United States of America)

On March 15,2008 Donna D'ADDIO rented a party bus from Somerset Limousine and Solid Gold for a Junior Prom. When the Bus arrived at her home both the Driver Terrance and the host spoke with Mrs D'Addio who paid for the rental service about the no tolerance level about Alcohol and Drugs aboard the bus.Mrs D 'Addio agreed about all the rules and regulations that are governed from N.Y.STATE.Mrs D'Addio also rented out the party bus so they could not drink Alcohol and not drive there own cars.We were waiting at the house for about 45 minutes after the rules were explained to Mrs D'Addio and saw the students going along side the house drinking alcoholic beverages. The kids then decided to bring snacks and Alcohol aboard the bus, also 2 boys tried to bribe our driver Terrance. The host witnessed Terrance tell the boys no amount of money will let you drink and for me to lose my license little did the boys or Mrs D'Addio know that Terrance was A Police Officer. This Prom rental should have been terminated right there on the spot but did not want to ruin there Prom nite and decided to give them another chance.
Also before we left the front of the house both Terrance and the host explained to the kids no smoking, no drinking etc.We then started to drive away proceeding to really no location for the kids. They then stated to us they wanted to be back in Westbury at the original pickup location by 4:00am.We then drove as far as Smithtown approximately 2-3 miles past the Smithtown Bull during this time the kids trashed the bus leaving it full of crushed popcorn alllover the floors ,crushed the plastic cups everywhere and etc.
We had to stop about five times for cigarettes & cigar breaks. We then arrived back in westbury approximatelt 4:00am. We arrived back at 125 Ward street Westbury and the kids yelling lets party Alcohol proceeded to get off the bus to obtain there alcohol on the side of the house 125 Ward street westbury.  And by no means were the kids left stranded on the street. At that point the job was terminated because we were not going to let them get back on the bus drunk. So this is really what happened on this Prom nite and we should have called the Police dept. because this is a case of aMother allows kids to drink alcohol. Also the Principal of there school was notified in writing about this Prom Nite.
