Countrywide mortgages, assumed by Bank of America and now it's subsidiary collections agency BAC, Simi Valley,CA sent me a FedEX package to see if I qualified for a home loan modification at the end of Feb, 2010, due to missing one payment. When I called as per the forms sent with the requested financials worksheet, I told the woman I spoke with my most current pay stub I would be picking up that night from work and would call her in the morning with the amounts. Which I did, only to be told that, oh...changes had been made and this information could no longer be taken over the phone...I would receive another Fed EX package, I was also told I need to be more than 30 days behind in my mortgage to qualify....the second Fed EX package never arrived. What did arrive was a letter from a company called Titanium Services stating they were a 3rd party to BAC and BOA and hired by them to come to my home personally to take my financial information and documents and I would be contacted for an appointment, in a few days.
Well...that never happened.
Then I received a letter stating that all monies behind MUST be paid in FULL by the 16th of May, 2010 or my home would be foreclosed, no partial payments accepted. I had been sitting on one payment waiting for these FedEX packages or someone to personally come to my home.
When I called BAC, they knew nothing of any of this, or so they said. They also said of course they could take my information from the worksheet over the phone and that I had to fax them the documents they needed, they did not know of a Titanium Services company and stated no one personally visits our home for this information ! NO response to me telling them I had been told to be over 30 days late with my mortgage payment. I asked if she would like me to make the payment I had been sitting on which still makes me behind one payment, and was told if I wanted to !!
I decided given the time frame between Feb, 2010 and the end of April, 2010, when all of this began and the lack of any clear direction, making one payment would be wise as well as scheduling the next one, which still leaves me a payment behind. This was done, all info was faxed to BAC on April 28th, 2010. I called on Tuesday May 3rd, to make sure the faxed documents were received by them, they were. Both times I spoke with customer service who took my information, I was told I was qualified for a loan modification. I had previously checked the .gov website for the Making Home Affordable programs, filled out their on-line forms and was also told I was qualified due to my payment being well over 31% of my income, as well as just my monthly bills, not counting bills such as credit cards.
In a letter dated May 4th, the day after 2 business days of receiving my faxed documents, and also being told it would take 30 - 60 days for processing, the letter stated that due to my financial information I was NOT qualified for any of their services. All of this determined in a DAY ???? I don't think so.
I called right away to ask why, and was told I had to wait 3 days to find out as that was not in my file yet. Then I hit the roof. Asked of they were aware I had received a foreclosure notice of the 16th of May, 2010, the end of this week. Was told that was not in my file ! But I could re-apply if I wanted to, to ensure anything pending would be put on hold. While once again going over my monthly financials I was told I would receive ANOTHER Fed EX package ! Is this sounding like a repeat nightmare or what ??
Again, I went back to the beginning, again, no response to being told I must be overdue 30 days, no response to a company called Titanium and the letter I received from them..other than once again, they don't send any 3rd hired party to your home.
So, who's conning who here ?? As this is in reply to a previously stated report here on RipOff, absolutely it would appear that information being given is lost, not given accurately and one will be denied...as many times as possible, before and IF anything is ever modified. While BOA is busy aquiring other mortgages held by other companies, (look on their website for the latest aquisitions) the Making Homes Affordable Program is going widely ignored, homeowners are not being helped, one can't even get through to a real person unless you scream RESPRESENTATIVE at voice prompts, and then proceed with a chain of dropped calls while being put on hold or transferred, so you can plan on making a day of contacting anyone !
If all of this isn't enough fun, I recently, as did many home owners, received notice of a class action lawsuit against, Countywide, FSB, and Bank of America, together called "Countrywide" that has reached a settlement about the theft of personal and financial information from their customer database ! Read more about that at: www.CWdataclaims.com Was it theft...how about our information was sold along with our mortgages...and this will not be the first class action law suit of this nature.
Amazing that when I was told by the person I spoke with today that she didn't know why my application was denied and I blew it, screaming who the hell is Titanium Services and who is SELLING my financial information, and HOW could an application they just got that was still in process be DENIED...suddenly I was given a new application. It is time for someone to take a serious look into the dealings of the top lending institutions and find out WHY the programs that are available to us are being denied.
I am just a single person who doesn't have children, but I have pets, they are my family and if it were not for them, as leaving them homeless is not an option any more than leaving one's two legged child is, BOA could have the keys to my house, as right now I can rent a brand new one for less than half my mortgage. We have more houses sitting empty then occupied.
Frustrated in Seattle...I'm right with you just a state away in Idaho.

Same Situation as many people trying to modify with BOA. Make a long story short I requested modification last August 2009. Qualified on Making Homes Affordable plan. Given a trial payment less than my normal payment based on my financials provided. I was giving trial payments for the past 9 months. I contacted BOA every week or so to get status update on my loan and was given the same update each time from a different rep. At times they seemed unhelpful to my requests of an accurate update. I provided requested updates on my financials> Tax Return> Check Stubs> Bank Statement> House Expenses about three times during this hope period. Each time i was somewhat helpful that they would work with me and approve my modification request as I was giving the trial payments in good faith. I have been trying to navigate the Bank of America Home Loans (BAC) / Countrywide (CW) retention program for 9 months with no avail. I have a home that is at a + market value of what I owe. As other homeowners I have also worked with the BAC foreclosure home retention department and have been denied multiple times, even after proving documented undue hardship, consistent financial capability (to support a modified loan), and willingness to stay in the home to keep a roof over my to two daughters and be the best single mom that I can be and have been for the past 12 years.
I was told that that the only reason that I am not approved for any loan is because IS THAT THE "INVESTOR FREDDIE MAC WILL NOT ALLOW LOAN FOR MODIFICATION", .
Despite the Millions even Billions of dollars BOA received they are not helping those who have proven to be able to afford the new trial payment initially offered.
I think that is is unconstitutional the BOA is adding the late payments to the back of the loan in addtion to the monthly payments besides not giving you false hopes and end the helping the homeowners. Where is the Gov't or for that matter the President who was the one who gave this money to the banks??

I just read your report and I felt like it was my nightmarish experience written by someone else! I was also with Countrywide and they were pathetic when it came to servicing our mortgage issues. We originally purchases our house in 2006 with two loans, or piggy back loans. We were really taken for a ride ever since. They were charging us fees if we paid early, fees, if we paid over the phone, fees if we paid late, etc. I would check the amount we owed online and the next day they were calling us telling us we owed more money and the website was not 'updated'. We, too experienced a hardship and when I called them to get some assistance, they recommended I have a yard sale to pay them the money we owed because we were falling behind in our payments. Then they said we didn't qualify for a refinance. I waited a few months and tried again once BOA bought them out. I called them beginning of July 2010 and was promised the world. They said I could get a modification on my loan due to a change in our income and I would be getting a 'package' sent to me in three weeks. I was to complete these forms and return the package. It was the end of September and still no package. I called BOA and spent the typical one and half to two and half hours on the phone transfer merry-go-round. I was transferred or given different phone numbers to call then I'd wait 20 minutes only to have someone hang up on me or tell me I had the wrong department. I finally reached a supervisor who gave me a different phone number that was for some sex phone line. Another dead end. I called back BOA and was told that the request for a modification would be escalated since my house was up for auction September 15 2010 and the foreclosure department could push the sale date out. I just needed to wait until September 1. So I called back September 1 and was told to call the foreclosure department who told me I had to wait 72 hours for my request to be processed. I waited two more business days and called back as instructed only to discover that 72 hours is the average and that there is no time frame I can expect to get approved. Now it was time for another supervisor. This lady sarcastically explained to me that I will not be approved for this loan modification because I am too far behind on my payments and I need to not blame the bank. I should have made payments if I wanted to keep the house. I told her that they should have told me this in July and I could have made other plans and not anticipated the fact that BOA gave a damn or was going to help me in any way, shape or form. She retorted that she can not answer for someone else in a different department. I waited until the next day, spent another two and half hours on the phone getting hung up on and the run around some more. I reached another customer service representative who told me of another program that I may be eligible for called NHRP, but when she 'transferred' me she too hung up on me. I called back and talked to someone else who was talking to me in spanish at first (?) which I have no idea how that happened, only to discover that NHRP department DOES NOT EXIST. This person told me I should not have waited until the last minute to try to save my home. With less than a week before the sale date on my home, there is nothing left for them to do as far as helping us with our mortgage. The past four and half years has been a living hell dealing with both of these companies. Bank of America and Countrywide have been the worst experience. I am so tired of trying to do the right thing that I have decided to cut my losses at this point. I was hoping that our politicians would step in and regulate the fact that these banks are taking full advantage of these homeowners and instead of incriminating them they get rewarded with money that instead of being allocated to homeowners who have experienced hardships decide to use that money for other non-related business transactions. This is so frustrating and exhausting. I can't wait to finally move out and start over and forget this whole ordeal. I look at it as a lesson learned. I REALLY feel your anguish for anyone reading this that has had a similiar experience. The only thing I can say is STAY AWAY FROM BOA they are unethically taking advantage of the consumer and will continue to do this until someone puts a stop to it. You are absolutely right when you say in your report that they deceivingly act like they are there to help and they want to work with homeowners to save the house. What a crock! I have a co-worker who states some people are filing bankruptcy for the amount they are behind on their mortgage and yet they are still able to keep their home. Maybe this is an option for you to explore. Try looking up President Obama's website as there may be some helpful links that will help with your situation. As for me, I'm moving on and out of this mess.

P.S. The USA consumes about 18.8 Million barrels of oil each day. If you subtract $86.46 from $111.60 you will see that oil has risen $25.14 a barrel since April 5, 2010. If you multiply $25.14 of additional profit on each barrel of oil times 18.8 Million barrels, you'll get $472,632,000 of additional profit each day on the USA's consumption alone.
That's four hundred seventy-two million six hundred thirty-two thousand dollars of additional profit EACH DAY on the USA's consumption! (That would certainly allow the 'speculators' (manipulators) to help keep their Ponzi scheme going for now, wouldn't everyone agree?)

This whole home loan modification is a scam, these banks were given money for the purpose of helping home owners who are having trouble making there payments or facing forclosure. I have had at least 6 friends submit the paperwork for the loan modification and each and every one of them were denied. These banks took the money from the government knowing what was for and have used it for bonuses and pay raises not the help homeowners. All of the banks and executives need to be investigated for fraudently using the goverments money. They all need to be brought down.
