My parents received a letter in the mail and when they called the 888 number they got a company called "Core Pac Solutions".  They asked a few questions and put them in touch with this fast talking scammer Edward Alonzo or Edgar Omar Guzman.

He told them that their dire mortgage situation needed immediate help and that his company could help but they had to put up front an amount equal to their mortgage payment ($1,400).  So he gave them a Bank of America account number and told them they had 24 hours to deposit the money or their loan modification approval interest rate of 3% would not be possible.

So they did and they mailed them paperwork to fill out with an agreement and they signed and  faxed them back within this time frame they were given.  They were instructed to call them back with the deposit routing# and they'd begin working on their loan modification to be resolved with their lender in 4-6 weeks and not to make any further mortgage payments.

So they did so and gave us this guys name and number and said this guy could help us also.  So they took us for $1,059. dollars and we didn't hear from them for almost 3 weeks, he would not even return our many phone message's.

Then a little over 3 weeks in I rcv. and email from a guy named Kyle McCoullum from a Company called "Precise Capital Inc." with a load mod. agreement and some financial forms they needed from us.  Well during this time my husband got a call from a girl who said she heard my husbands desperate phone messages he was leaving for this Edward Alonzo guy so she called to let us know that we we're being scammed by this guy .

Edgar Omar Guzman aka Edward "eddy" Alonzo and that he had messages from people all over the states asking for paper work, saying where do they send their money and asking why haven't you called me back!!! This girl opted to call my husband because he was leaving at least 8 msgs a day for this guy.

When this Edgar Omar Guzman aka Edward Alonzo guy finally called us back he stated that we dropped the ball during the whole process by not returning the loan mod agreement and paperwork...and that we needed to talk with our supposed "Loan Mod. Counselor" Kyle McCollum to resolve this issue.

Well Kyle states that they need us to sign the Loan Mod. agreement before they can give us a refund, but I told him I'm not signing anything I dont understand w/ all that legal mumbo jumbo in it and he refused to explain it and proceeded to tell us also that it was our fault for dropping the ball during this whole process for not returning thr paperwork.

How could we have dropped any ball...when they never returned our calls or mailed us any info till the email almost 3 weeks later after they took our money.  I told him the modification agreement said that we would owe "Precise capital Inc." an additional $4,200. in advance for services and I said Im not signing that.

He said for me to white it out and put in the amount I had already paid and well...I just told him the gig was up, we know they were scamming us because we received a phone call from someone telling us what they are doing and all we wanted back was our money and the money for my parents.

He said he doesnt know where to send it because we havent sent him any documents back or mainly the loan mod. agreement and until then they can't help us. We told him to Western Union it to any location In Houston, Texas and we'll quit calling them.  Needless to say we have not heard from them in almost 2 more weeks.

This whole thing started in September and still today they refuse to talk with us or return our phone calls.  So any one out there...I know this was a long story but please dont send and money to these guys....They are scam artists plain and simple.  My only prayers are that justice will be served if not soon but in the long run.

They took us for a total of around $2400 dollars and did not a thing for us or our mortgage.  If anything we are in worse shape now and they could care less.  How do they sleep at night?

All they did was cause us grief and worry wrapped in a whole lot of anger and frustration.  I hope this reaches all those out there who maybe have heard of these guys and this company.

Reply from a former employee

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (United States of America)

I realize this is a late response but I am posting this in the hope that more people do not fall into the same predicament.

I am a former employee of Core Pac Solutions and I would highly advise NOT to obtain the services of this company.

First of all, Core Pac Solutions is not and was never a law firm. Although this attorney is a real person, they simply used the name of Stephen E. Heyn to make the company look more credible.

The mailer that you received was through a marketing company that we paid to deliver mailers to thousands of homeowners. This mailer promised we could get you a really low interest rate, probably something like 2%. Unfortunately, not ONE of our employees ever saw this mailer. Be warned: we are not the only company sending out these generic mailers!

The payment they requested was for their service and was usually equal to the amount you paid for one months mortgage. They request this “mortgage payment” for 2 reasons: 1. to make you feel more secure that you will get a good modification from your lender and 2. because the salesperson taking your call works on 100% commission.

Unfortunately, if you get declined by your lender, and request a refund, you will find it next to impossible to obtain any money back. They will use reasons such as, you did not supply us with the requested documents in a timely manner (which, by the way, IS stated in the contract YOU signed) or that the company is entitled to an additional fee based on the amount of time spent on the file. If you receive a less-than-desired modification, you will not be refunded, as they have held up their part of the contract by assisting you with the process.

Several people were either fired or left the company because, unbeknownst to the owners, they were using the marketing, being paid for by Core Pac, to redirect potential clients to another agent/company, which, in this case, was Precise Capital Inc.

Hiring a professional to assist you with a modification will usually help you to get a better deal than if you were to do it on your own but, keep in mind, it is still not a guarantee and the the person you hire still deserves to get paid for their services, regardless of the outcome.

1. Always do your research before paying someone for their service.

2. Always read your contract BEFORE you sign it.

3. NEVER give someone you don't know your account number. I have no sympathy for the fools that have done this so it's your own fault!
