Another loan modification horror story. I know this sounds crazy now, but we started this process back before there was ANY media attention regarding modifications and scams. We were NOT deadbeats behind on our mortgage, but we were trying to refinance due to a job loss (outsourced).
These folks promised a refund if they couldn't get us refinanced at lower interest and monthly payment. They told us we had to be two months behind before they could negotiate with our mortgage lender. They eventually told us our lender declined us but only after months of trying to contact them for a status update. We later learned they never even contacted our mortgage company. We are still repaying the money we borrowed to do this scheme AND we have lost our dream home and our credit is ruined.
I'm not allowed to give email addresses, but I certainly have several of them! They go by several different names and operate in several cities and states. We are in Arkansas and the following are the crooks we personally dealt with:
Lorena Leggett, Executive VP for Loan Mod One a/k/a LoanMOD One a/k/a LMO Direct, LLC 949-459-0608. For what it was worth (nothing) we turned her over to the Nevada BBB.
Illinois Attorney David Mierswa 847-566-6294. We complained to the Illinois State Bar and BBB. This is the jacka** who supposedly put our money in an escrow or trust account until the process was over. He refuses to answer phone calls and emails and refuses to return the money.
