I am from the Philippines and I was contacted by Mario Mapoy who guaranteed that he could help me  with a loan modification. "To say that my experience with Mario Mapoy was less-than-satisfying would be a compliment, considering the level of disappointment and frustration I’ve felt in regards to his services. In my opinion, I think his business practices are illegal and his professionalism is non-existent, and he should be thrown in jail.

 

We were sent to an attorney Liz Koepke in Berkeley, CA. When we went to her office it was more of a ghetto of Oakland. We locked our car, but it would have been better to have taken a cab and kept it running so we could get out of the area safely. Liz Koepke took our money, bragged about her experience, and then afterword’s never returned calls, as we continued to try to contact her, she was either on a vacation or at yoga or visiting her Swami, when we asked for our money back, she said there was no more money and these things just take time. We knew when she could not remember our names or our scheduled appointments, that she wasn’t the brightest attorney at all. How she ever got her license I have no idea.

 

We would have been better served if we sent the lender a message in a bottle and threw it in the ocean. We are now in foreclosure and we are strapped for cash and cannot afford another attorney.

 

In the meantime we found that Mario Mapoy lives in a mansion in Blackhawk, and has basically been stealing money from his own people to support his lifestyle. This man has no shame and he is an embarrassment to both the Pilipino community and the church.

 

I’ve spoken to several homeowners in my community and at church all who have dealt with Mr. Mapoy and they seem to share the same negative sentiments. This man is a habitual liar and a thief and he has no morals.

In fairness to Mr. Mario Mapoy, i have dealt with this man for more than 10 years now, and i have nothing but praises and good experiences with his services.  I bought my first home from his realty company way back in 94, refinanced several times and lately, underwent modification with his assistance, and all the results are more than satisfactory.  He also referred me to Atty Liz Koepke, and she did a great job of representing me to my lender.  I got a very good deal, and now our mortgage is very reasonable and I am very satisfied with her work also.  They practically saved me from losing my home to foreclosure.

I dont know why your experience is a disappointment.  As far a I know, Mr. Mapoy and his team are very professional and committed to their work and clients.  I cannot but disagree with you.

I am also a Filipino, and  I am proud of kababayans like Mr. Mapoy who helps out his fellow Filipinos.

My name is Mario Mapoy and I am the individual named in the above complaint.
I am both shocked and saddened by this report. I have been in the real estate business for over 20 years, helping both members of my community and real estate clients at large in buying and selling their homes. It is inevitable that in over 20 years of service, there may be one or two clients who may be unhappy with their decision to buy, sell, refinance or modify their loan. Anyone who works in business knows that sometimes a client is unhappy and it is all but natural for the client to lash out at those around them trying to help. I am not certain, but I believe this may be the case with the person who wrote this complaint. I invite whoever wrote this to contact me directly so that I can see what I can do to help you. I will include you in my prayers and will wish that you find peace within yourself.
