Thank you for providing a forum to complain and hopefully resolve issues on the mortgage crisis!

My family and I are victims of the failed Obama Plan and desperately trying to keep our home. We have been unjustly rejected by WAMU/JP Morgan Chase for a loan modification despite the fact I make a net of $1k more per month this year over last (they are predicating our modification solely on our taxable income from 2008*)!

What's worse is there is NO discussion with these so-called "negotiators." There is absolutely no negotiating. If something doesn't fit their "process" or a number on a form, they deny and move on. Even more troubling, is that I was told that it was "Confidential" and "against bank policy" to tell me how our income and DTI was being calculated.

This is reprehensible!! We are ready and have been working ourselves to the bone to keep our home, but WAMU is clearly out to get it. We've been working on this since November of 2008 and had to file 3 times

BTW, unless you are 30-60 days away from having the Sheriff show up at your door to evict you, they won't talk to you. We sent expensive ($4.95 each) certified letters to each Chase Board Member at their corporate office (not Chase's NY office) and got no response. We only finally got to assigned to an executive customer service rep at Chase in South Carolina after sending US Senator Herb Kohl a copy of the letter we sent the Chase board members.

In conclusion, we are highly educated individuals. Even we cannot make heads nor tails of this "bailout legislation" and have yet to learn or meet anyone who's been helped by it. Banks do not have good or established policies or procedures to effectively deal with this. It's sad especially for those of us who truly work for everything we have and are willing to pay.

Insult to Injury
I am self-employed and took a large hit to my income late 2006 and through 2007 - by Feb 2008 we did a Chapter 13 which WAMU unjustly got outside of - claiming we didn't make our Spt 08 payment which we did and they never processed the payment. Even their local lawyers, O'Dess & Associates lied outright to our lawyers, Miller & Miller saying all would be fine if we paid the Spt & Oct which we even brought a cashier's check to their office. This didn't stop them and they still sought foreclosure on our home.

Our ARM went higher than 13% and is still at over 10.5%.

HAS ANYONE SUCCEEDED?

CAN YOU ANSWER WAMU/CHASE'S POLICY/PROCEDURE FOR DOING THIS AS THEY WON'T DISCLOSE IT? (Rather like being asked to play a game where the rules aren't shared and you're called for penalty)
