On January 13, 2009 I paid my car payment on line as I have done for years. I authorized them to take one (1) payment of $332.39 from my account on January 14, 2009 for my current payment due. I always print out a verification letter showing my online payment transaction with a verification number.

On January 16 when I was checking my bank account on line I noted that Chrysler Financial had taken out my payment due on the 14th but had taken out another payment on the 15th. I called them at customer service number to notify them that this 2nd debit from my account was an error, and that I had only authorized 1 payment.

When I attempted to explain this to the customer rep. he told me that I had made two payments to them and they had applied the 2nd payment to my February payment. I told him that I had not authorized them to take a 2nd payment out of my account and he told me that it was my mistake and there was nothing they would do about it. I told him that they could certainly reverse the 2nd payment but he refused stating that I needed to send them proof of my name, address, account and what ever else they needed.

I than responded to this person that this is a bunch of crap since they already had all of this information and account numbers, etc. and this was just a delay tactic on their part. It was extremely difficult to communicate with him as I could not understand his attempt at speaking English. I asked to speak to the manager and after being on hold for 5 minutes she came on and I also had a difficult time understanding her as she could not speak English very well. I explained the situation to her and she cut me off with, "its your fault - there isn't anything I can do since you authorized this 2nd payment and we have proof that you sent us two payments". I told her that I did not authorize two payments and if I would have they would have been submitted together as one payment and not separately and taken out on two different dates. She just refused to reverse the 2nd payment and told me I had two options and that was to leave this alone and keep this on the February payment or contact my bank. I told her that I would be contacting my bank as they were ripping me off when I had not authorized another payment and I hung up on her.

I contacted my bank and they told me they could tell by the transaction numbers that the 2nd payment was in error and they agreed to reverse the 2nd payment, and that they have had numerous similar complaints about Chrysler Financial. I will not use the online payment again and have also changed all my banking information so they cannot access my account. I will be done with this company in September and will never have an account with Chrysler Financial again. They are the biggest rip-offs.
