First Horizon Home Loans lies on top of lies. They've kept me waiting 3 months with my credit ruined because of it. Rip-off! Overland Park, Kansas

I was promised the loan would close "in a couple of days". It has now been almost 90 days (which wouldn't have been a problem if they would have told me it would take three months instead of two days). Now my property tax is delinquent, my car has been unregistered for almost a full month, I've lost 16 hours of vacation time waiting for a call (he actually told me to wait by the phone because he was "definitely going to call with instructions on closing" - I'm still waiting three days later).
Basically if I wasn't lied to I most definitely would have tightened the belt (skipped christmas and groceries) to pay bills, but instead I was led to believe I had a bunch of money coming to me soon so I thought I had a cushion that wasn't there. So now I trusted them I am in real financial trouble.

I have worked for the financial industry for years. Just because you are waiting for a refinance to close doesn't mean you can stop paying your mortgage. There are a lot of things that can happen that will delay a closing (although 90 days is almost unheard of). I hope everybody who reads this takes note. Pay your current mortgage until you sign the loan documents and have a check in your hand.
