I received a voicemail from lady with thick accent who said to call back to 213-289-3745 imediately.  I called several times and message said I couldn't leave a message!  After several more tries, I talked to a man with a very thick accent who said his name was "Michael Clark" and that I was going to be served with an arrest warrant tomorrow because I failed to make a payment for a loan I received online. He asked for my attorney's fax so he could fax the documents to the attorney. He listed off several charges, including bank fraud, check fraud, etc.

I told him that I would be happy to pay anything I legally owed and asked him to fax me some documentation showing what I owed.  He had vague reasons why he couldn't do it.  He said I must pay $845.27 immedately or there would be an arrest warrant issued for me tomorrow morning.  e wanted me to go get a prepaid Visa witht that amount loaded on it and call him back.

I called my attorney instead, who cooled me down and said to immediately report the fraud.

When I didn't call back, "Michael Clark" called me.  He asked if I had the prepaid Visa and I told  him yes to keep him talking.  I said before I gave him the card info, I wanted his address and an alternative phone number.  He gave me an alternate phone of 707-969-0045, and the Monterey Park address.

Then I told  him I wasn't going to give him any money right then.  His response was to say too bad, he would be forced to file with the court tomorrow morning and then quickly hung up...to call someother poor soul, I guess.

I'm in Colorado Springs, CO.
