During my search for a company to use to refinance my home, Quicken Loans called me.

After giving them general info, I was told that I was "just the kind of person they were looking for". I should have gotten the message right then.

The representative called me back in about an hour and gave me a rste and ther monthly payment. I told him that didn't match up with other bank offers I had -- the Quicken rate quote was lower biut the payment was higher.

I asked him what mortage amount he was using and he being to answer very vaguely. I aske dif he could give me (fax or mail) a good faith estimate of costs and he said thery didn't do that until I had made an application (and likely paid a fee for the application.

At that point I relaized I was talking to a reputable firm (what loan outfit won;t give you costs?) and very, very Quicken-ly (pun intended) got off the phone.

This is not the company to use for a loan!!!!!

Ok Bob

AUTHOR: Real World - Somewere (U.S.A.)

Bob, I want to go talk to a car salesman and asked him for the payment on a new car without giving him your SSN and income. He mite give you a payment, however see what your payment is after you give him your info. Again, anyone can give you numbers, so what.If you want to hear numbers, great or do you want numbers that are real, then you will need to give your info to all that will be giving you credit.

Real World, I don't Follow Your Response

AUTHOR: Jim - Lansing (U.S.A.)

You Wrote:

Are you attempting to say that no company out there will give a consumer "the real numbers" until they've paid an application fee?

Bob what I am saying is you will not get bottom line numbers, sign on the line numbers, without pulling the SSN at a bank, car dealer or anyother company who will give you a loan.

If you are going to file responses as an employee....please work on your grammar. You are making the company look bad, or should I say even worse. I have to say that your research on buying things is really poor. Yes you can walk in and find out what you are going to pay. For example...0% is being offered for 6 years (are you following this), and you have a credit score of 769 with a debt to income ratio of 25%. (stay with me killer) The vehicle costs say $60.00 out the door after a few minor costs. You know that you will get qualify for 0% therefore your payment will be 1 dollar per month.......there ya go, you know what you are going to pay. Face it.....if you keep making those grammar mistakes you will be fired too.

I am so happy to find a spelling teacher. I did not know I was taking a spelling test. Again, you can tell anyone your income / credit score and it means nothing until you look at both.

Did you get it this time and if not, please go to lets say, BestBuy and tell them you want to charge $5000 on a BestBuy charge card but you will not give them any credit info and you want them to give you a payment and approval. get real and thank you MR. spelling bee

In response to Real World being listed as an Employee

AUTHOR: Yeswecan - Ada (U.S.A.)

When I worked there and Rip-Off Report really started making the news, Dan instructed employees NOT to post comments and the customer service dept. would handle this website.

Real World-you may want to stop posting unless you are under order to do so. The kelly@quicken person is much better and WAY more professional than you. Plus, you don't want to be rude to people in a public forum while representing your employer.

If you wish to be rude, create another User ID and don't list yourself as being an employee.

Just a suggestion.
