To my great misfortune, I had to "borrow" money from Titlemax. To say that was a huge mistake is an understatement! The harrassment and underhanded practices are beneath comtempt! I was desperate and quite stupid to go there in the first place. They called my references continously, sent people to my home and simply terroized me. They have humilated me in front of my boss and freinds. I have always stayed in touch with them, calling them and being truthfu, have the phone records to prove it I have'nt gotten to the lieing part yet! How can these people continue to operate in this matter is a mystery to me. Oh I know, they are being protected buy the powers of the state of South Carolina. I would crawl over broken glass before I would set myself up to let these lowlifes have my car. It is very difficult for me to make the payments, but I do. when i am late, WHAM, they pour on the late charges and additional interest better than a loan shark could.
What can be done about these bottom feeders, probaly nothing. Where is the goverment when you need them, take a guess!

Folly Road Office closed

I have no personal contact with this company, but my daughter did, and lost her car. I live a few miles from the former Folly Road, Charleston, SC office, and happen to know that office closed a couple of months ago. Perhaps, this will dissuade some potential clients from pawning their car titles.

Gal I know borrowed $250 from one of those places about 8 months ago. She pays them $50 every 2 weeks. She went in last week to get a balance on her account. She still owes them $450 on a $250 loan after paying $800, so by now her $250 loan will have cost her over $1250 after only 8 months. Talk about a rip. Her POS car isn't worth $1250. She's just gonna let them have it. Heck, they've made $550 on a $250 loan, more then doubled their money AND got a POS car which they'll probably unload at jbryder for a grand or more.

State of Wisconsin, takes drastic measures to stop these "loan" companies.

These "loan" companies, need to go! I had to apply for crisis aid, for my energy bill, or face disconnect. I was approved, but before the state of Wisconsin, would release the aid, I had to go to a workshop where they were teaching people in poverty about the evils of dealing with these loan shops. I guess these places are doing such damage to the community, and people at risk, the had to try and do something to alert people of this scam

the person going to these places has absolutely no responsibility in any of this right? The places wouldn't exist if there weren't people that conciously made the decision to go to them.
