I made a reservation with the resort. One month later I received an email stating that my reservation was not in compliance with their "holiday policy." The email stated that I would have to purchase an extra day. I telephoned the lodge and there was no extra day available to purchase? I then tried to change my reservation to many other options (all from me) all of which were not available according to the lodge.
Their customer service skills seem to be full of confusion, avoidance and doing anything to try to get rid of you. If you book a reservation here, be prepared for dissapointment, confussion a being treated like crap!
They have a resturaunt on the property. I can't imagine what the customer service must be like in there...
My family now has to make other arraingments. Great way to dissapoint kids, way to go Greer Resort & Cabins.
If you do decide to make a reservation, consider it a suggestion as it may not be available. I don't think they understand the meaning of the word reservation.
Bad deal, bad customer service. Never again. Go somewhere else and save the heartache.
Try the Peaks in Greer. Great customer service and friendly staff. They understand the reservation concept.

They gave me a credit and two days later they charged me again without my permission even after my reservation was canceled by them!!! Can they charge me from now on? This company is a complete mess. I wish I never heard of the Greer Resort and Lodge! I have to keep fighting with them after they canceled my reservation! What "Resort" does this. Take your money and time (to fight with them) somewhere you can relax and enjoy. I'm glad this happened now, I believe the resort would have been a big disappointment after seeing how we were treated so far.

This person purchased a deeply discounted Groupon voucher (savings of up to 70% off our everyday low prices) that is only good on Sunday thru Thursday nights, excluding the Sunday nights of Holiday Weekends. When a Groupon customer calls our reservations office to make a reservation, we "take their word" that they have a valid Groupon voucher. We do this in the interest of serving the customer.
Each reservation is audited for accuracy. During the routine audit of this customer's reservation, it was discovered they had booked a reservation on a Holiday 3 Day Weekend, which is specifically prohibited in their Groupon Voucher.
We contacted the customer, explained their error, and offered to reschedule their reservation to a date that was within the guidelines of their Groupon voucher.
The customer was treated fairly and professionally by our staff. I hope the customer will reschedule their trip to a date that is permitted under their deeply discounted voucher.
Thank you.

Great response! The reservation was made with a Dealchicken.com deal, not a Groupon.
Their agent made the reservation over the phone with full disclosure of the Dealchicken deal with claim number. Please do not act if you were taken by surprise. Your agent made the reservation and one month later you noticed it? I guess that's my fault?
Funny, no mention of the tax charges that were refunded and then charged again. I was told that an "Executive decision" was made to charge the tax again after the reservation was canceled by the resort. Tax on a sale that never went through? I was supposed to receive a call from the "executive decision" maker a "Mike" but later received a call from the same reservation agent stating that I would again be refunded the tax charge. Wow, how kind of them to give me back a charge of tax to my credit card that they made without my permission. Can you charge tax on a sale that does not take place? I guess in Greer that kind of thing is common. Will I have to kep a close eye on my credit card to see if the charge comes up again?
Lets face it, the resort treats guests who purchase Dealchicken (deals set up by the resort, they are not forced upon them) like crap. Why do they get involved with offering deals when they treat people this way. Customer service is not a priority here. Try the Peaks in Greer. They have a nice facility and honor reservations, imagine that...
