Hotels.com would not let us cancel a hotel reservation made to the wrong city Internet

We were trying to make a reservation for a funeral in Shelbyville, KY and the website changed to Shelbyville, SC and we did not notice the change until after we made the reservation. We called Hotels.com within 5 minutes and they would not help us cancel. We had to call Days Inn in South Carolina and the Manager of the Hotel would not cancel the reservation. We also called Days Inn, Corporate Offices and they said all of their hotels were independently owned and they could do nothing. We also tried to stop payment through the Discover Card and after several weeks they now are saying there is nothing they can do. This cost us $121.92.
