We recently had a very unpleasant experience with InnSeason Resorts' unethical and fraudulent tactic to get people to their timeshare sales session and would like to warn people of their practice:

First we received a phone call from a sales representative who pleasantly informed us of our compensation for attending one of their 90-min timeshare sessions, which include a $25 dinner certificate, a $100 gas rebate, and 4 free plane tickets to anywhere in the US. Being naive, we drove all the way from Boston to Falmouth for the presentation that lasted longer than the promised 90-min. We decided not to purchase their timeshare unit afterall. It wasn't until later that we realized that, aside from the $25 dinner certificate, the compensations they offered were scams.

The 4 free plane tickets weren't really free at all. To use it, we would have to pay for 7-nights of stay at full price at one of their resorts, which is usually more than double of the comparable hotel rate. The $100 gas rebate had to be painstakingly submitted in $10 installment over a 10 mo period. At the end, we only received a total of $40.

Upon contacting InnSeason Resort, we were initially pleasantly informed that they will do everything they can to retrieve the additional $60 promised. However, they only were able to offer another similar gas rebate scam in return. When we further complained, they became nasty and told us that we should be glad that we got what we did already.

Is this the correct way to treat your customers? It was obvious that they offered a big package of prizes to lure unsuspecting potential buyers only to make their sales pitch. They had no intention of following through and truly compensate people for wasting their time. We strongly warn the general public against continuing to fall for this type of fraudulent marketing practice and also urge the media to expose their dishonest business practice.
