AM Press Assoc. (Independent Marketing Firm) Mags R US ripoff, scam, door to door magazine sales, fraud Miami Florida

A girl came to my apartment door when it was pouring rain outside and asked if I was a nice Person. I said I guess so and she said, "Oh trust me, after the way some people have treated me tonight, You definitely look nice!" so she went into her rehearsed speech about needing money, I can't remember why. I invited her in and she hesitated but came in and we chatted for a little while. I even mentioned that my daughter had a terminal illness, but that didn't stop this girl from stealing my money. I ordered just one magazing subscription for my daughter, and gave her a check for $12.45. The receipt said to mail the same amount to a Miami PO box within 2-10 days, so I did that, too. Both checks have been cashed and 5 months later I am still left with nothing. My friends even came in while the girl was there and as soon as she left, they commented on the fact she seemed shady and they said I had just been scammed. What was interesting is that just a few minutes after she had been sitting there, another knock came and it was two other girls, about the same age as this one and she looked surprise and awkward that they knocked there while she was there. It was almost as if she wanted us to think that she was the only one who was doing it or something.

The girl was poorly dressed and had a distinct odor that reminded me of the smell of someone who is homeless (if that makes any sense). I wanted to help but not too much, which is why I only ordered one subscription. So, I've lost $25, which is minor compared to others I have seen posted on this site. It's a shame that people still feel the liberty to scam innocent people with all of the negetive things that are already going on in the world. Lovely.

Beware of anyone who is door to door. I'm hearing very few valid things about them these days...
