By signing up for the initial offer from Columbia House, you committed yourself to purchase "x" number of CD's over the next couple of years (I am not sure what the latest offer is).
Columbia House and other places of similiar ilk operate via what is called a "negative option charge". That means, unless you tell them *not* to send the current "featured selection", you will be send and charged for that selection.
From the description in the report, it seems like you were not declining your Featured Selections - so they were sending them to you. And they were within their rights. Because of the agreement you signed when you purchased your initial CD's at a greatly reduced cost, you were obligated to tell them when you do not want a particular "featured selection". If you do not tell them you don't want it, then you implicitly order it by default.
If you attempt to cancel your membership before fulfilling your obligation, then they are within their rights to collect the monies that are due to them for the number of CD's that you would be required to satisfy your obligation.
