Trilegiant ,Shoppersa Avantage, Travelers Advantage Un authorized credit card charges Nationwide

Though I was duped in to agreeing to the trial membership to Travelers Avantage ( I was rushing to get my travel arrangements set up for a recent trip and thought this was something from my travel agency when I got the call), after doing some checking and reading the Rip Off reports about Trilegiant, I called to cancel my membership. When membership in Travelers Advantage was offered to me I was told numerous times that I could cancel at any time. The person I spoke to took my information and told me my membership would be cancelled and no more charges would be made to my credit card.

Now enter Shoppers Advantage, who I never spoke to and never agreed to purchasing membership from, bills my credit card for $8.00 membership. I told the rep that I never authorized them to charge my credit card, and I assume they got my card numbr (which I never gave them) from Travelers Adv.

They say the will cancel and refund the charges, however this may take up to two billing cycles (they must consider this a loan @ 0% interest). I would recommend that no one do bussines with Trilegiant or any of it's tentacles (..... Advantage). This is downright fraud and theft. When I told the rep that I dared him to produce my authorizing this I was simply connected to a recording which gave me my cancel code.

I will follow up on this posting after I see if they ever do refund the charge or if they continue to charge me.
