Do not use this guy to fix anything for you. He claims to be an honest small engine repair shop owner, although, you will find out in the long run he is not. First, it took him 6 weeks to fix a lawn mower that I dropped off. The lawn mower needed a new pull cord, and it had lost compression somehow. I called him numerous times to find out what was going on with the lawn mower. The first thing was he couldnt get the parts, therefore, I ordered the parts. Then another week went by and I called him again and he began telling me about him and his wife separating "as if I cared, I hired him to fix a lawn mower"; then started telling me he had to finish his floors in his house and the lawn mower had to wait. I asked him numerous times about how much it would cost to put the parts on, he quoted me $15, which seemed fair. Well he finally put the parts on and called me to let me know. He then told me it cost $62 for him to put the parts on, not the $15, I was quoted. He then told me that it would cost $84 for him to put 2 gaskets on that was causing the compression problems. I told him not to put the parts on. I called another gentleman I know in lonoke who works on lawnmowers and he was even astonished by how much he was charging to put the gaskets on, matter of fact this man told me it would only cost $10 for him to put the gaskets on, so you know where my lawnmower is going! Well I went to pick up the lawnmower and looked at the bill. He charged $22 for labor, around $10 for other parts (bolts, etc.) and $39.95 for a tune-up. I never asked for a tune-up, but he did it anyways and charged me for it. When I got home, I pulled the spark plug and it has not been changed. What mechanic does a tune-up and doesnt change the plug? This guy will not get any business from me or anyone I know. My neighbor as a matter of fact asked me how he was because he needs his boat motor fixed and I told him dont go to him and told him about what he did to me (of course that changed his mind). I know this is long but wanted to put the word out there on this guy! He is a rip-off and will charge you for things you didnt even ask for. Please do not go to him. I have actually thought about filing for a small claims suit against him, but it is such a small amount, that I am not really worried about it. I just wanted to let people know how this guy really is. Please find someone else to do what you need.
