The Clean Team is an a/c duct cleaning company owned and operated by Douglas Demain of Villa Portofino, Boca Raton, Florida.  This company has been ripping off the good citizens of Palm Beach County for years now, charging ridiculous amounts of money for a service that is not even performed properly, with antiquated equipment that is basically broken.  This cheap bastard Demain sends unqualified workers out to do his dirty work, and pays them pennies for their complicity in his illegal business enterprise.  The whole thing is a farce, from beginning to end.  He makes the client believe that his service will make the air duct system free of dust, dirt, pollen, mold spores, by the use of a rotating brush vacuum system, and other vacuums, and that the air handler itself will be completely cleaned of all of the same dirt particles. He then claims to use Microban to spray into the system to insure the elimination of all dirt, and mold left behind by the physical removal process.  He also cleans out dryer ducts of the fuzzy product we know from the cleanout screen. The company truck is a pickup with vinyl lettering all over it that looks really good, like an actual company vehicle. He charges range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars for this service, depending on how much he can get out of the client, depending on their affluence.

Here is what really goes down.

The truck was bought from a real a/c duct cleaning company.  Mr. Demain has no current affiliations to the company it was bought from, nor to the associations of “duct cleaners” whose logos are plastered on this ancient piece of crap truck….but it looks good, like a bona fide company truck.

The first step is to remove the duct vent covers.  Ladders are brought in and the covers are removed, marked, and taken to the nearest hose to be washed. This is actually done properly.  Next is to clean out the ducts, now opened up to accept a vacuum system.  The other equipment used is way substandard, and the main workhorse of the process, a “Rotobrush” vacuum is broken and does not operate properly.  It sure looks good, though. The brush does not spin, and the vacuum does not suck.  The only thing that sucks here is this bastard’s bill for his non-service.  This Rotobrush is supposed to spin a brush at the end of a twenty foot 3” hose, freeing dirt from the walls of the ducts and sucking it all out.  The cable that is supposed to spin the brush was broken years ago, and the vacuum doesn’t suck worth a damn, you could stick this thing into a bag of flour, and it wouldn’t even suck that up, never mind dirt and mold that is firmly attached to the inside duct walls of an a/c system. What a scam, this dude is a complete ripoff bulls**t artist.  The vacuum that cleans out the other parts of the a/c system is an old Sears vacuum that gets cleaned out once in a blue moon, dirt and mold is actually transported from job to job, an unconscionable work practice.  The air handler is opened up and “cleaned”, in reality it’s just a show.  Minor surface cleaning at best.  This moron has no business opening up a mechanical system component, he can barely use a screwdriver.  The “microban” that Mr Demain tells clients will kill anything left in the system that the vacuums didn’t get, and supposedly costs $300 a gallon, is actually a common cleaning fluid with a scent he buys at a janitorial supply store for about twenty bucks a gallon.  It kills NOTHING, and is another scam element of this intensive “cleaning” process of Mr Demains.

Bills for service range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand for large places with many many vents.  This equipment has not worked for about five years now, although he has made HUNDREDS of thousand dollars with this scam.  He should be arrested immediately and be made a prison bitch in a dirty nasty cell.  He has “serviced” many upper class communities in Boca Raton Fl, million dollar homes, and large commercial operations, for a dog and pony show and a spritz of perfume for effect. He is deceitful, cheap, argumentative, loud and obnoxious, and so very unqualified to be doing this in the first place, even if the equipment worked properly which it does not.

He will advise the client not to be around while the work is being done, for their own safety, airborne mold and the like.  In reality, he doesn’t want the consumer to see that the vacuums don’t work, and that they are actually being completely ripped off.

EVERY JOB THIS COMPANY HAS DONE IN THE LAST FEW YEARS HAS BEEN A COMPLETE RIPOFF…..EVERY ONE.!  DOUGLAS DEMAIN IS A CROOK, AND LIVES IN A VERY NICE HOME IN BOCA RATON  (IN VILLA PORTOFINO) ON STOLEN AND FRAUDELENT MONEY.  JAIL THIS CREEP IMMEDIATELY, AND HIS HOUSE SHOULD BE SOLD AT AUCTION AND THE MONEY RETURNED TO THE PEOPLE HE HAS RIPPED OFF THROUGH THE YEARS.
