4/19/09 got pm service done at Q fix in Memphis, IN @ 749683 miles. Then got another pm service done by another shop @764281 miles. Mechanic tried to remove oil pan plug and it was over torqued and could not remove it cause they were worried of causing the oil pan to crack and the oil plug to leak all the engine oil out on an aluminum oil pan. The last shop to install this plug on the truck and over torque it was Q fix. This was done by mechanic Mike employee ID#214, who installed a torque seal on plug. Even if the plug was over tightened, the torque wrench would still click but would not indicate that it was over torqued, it only indicates that it was under torqued. When the mechanic tried to do the oil change the second time, he knocked the torque seal off with the socket, otherwise you will not be able to tell that it is too tight without using a socket to remove the plug. Q fix refused to replace oil pan after checking the torque specs themselves by Angelica the Q fix mechanic. I tried to talk with the mechanic Mike-214, who had done the work on the truck on 4/19/09, to try and recollect the events that took place that day and he replied he doesn't admit or deny anything that day and indicated to me that I was "pissing him off" and that if I was a dude he would kick my a$$ and kept trying to provoke me, the argument got rather heated and he threatened to call the police on me but I threatened back to say he threatened bodily harm on me so he didn't call the police because he knew he was in the wrong. Instead he closed garage doors and continued to rattle off comments. There was another driver in the garage, who walked in on the end of the event and took up for said company because he did not hear everything that was said and was in the drivers lounge most of the name calling and obscenities.

QFix innocent

AUTHOR: Greg - Louisville (USA)

As business manager for Qfix Truck Service I was personally involved in this claim.

Jessica's statement are incorrect. We were not allowed to remove drain plug (front one of four on a CAT motor). She stated we over torqued but were never allowed to loosen. Her reasoning was "we would stretch treads" and it would cause it to leak. We never got the opportunity to prove her claim. Typical issue on aluminum pan on CAT motor is for plug to stick. Not freeze.

We have several witnesses (including truck driver she mentoned) who claim she was the instigator of all the hostility. Our Assistant manager on duty at the time (Sam Anderson) was very professional about asking Jessica to leave but eventually had to "threaten" the law and close our garage doors to keep Jessica from disrupting other business at the time.

The other PM provider by the way was her. Learned this from her co workers that stated she had come into fleets garage seeking assistance.
