According to you the good samaritan should sit down and have a long conversation with the perp and tell him that he really, really shouldn't have done what he did and get on with his life. This is what you get with conceal carry laws. Pull out a gun and shoot instead of tackle and hold while trying to help.
" Officers went to the Cub Foods where they were approached by a man who said he witnessed the mugging of the elderly woman and had chased the suspect to an area near the Super Grand Buffet. The Good Samaritan said he had a valid Minnesota permit to carry a handgun and that he had shot the suspect during a confrontation outside of the buffet. He told officers where to find his handgun and he was detained for questioning. "
It will be interesting to see how the state handles this one. He chased the purse snatcher, killed him, then went back to Cub Foods to tell the cops where to find the purse snatchers body.

Gee Troy, you forgot to mention that the DEAD MUGGER was ARMED. You forgot to mention that the DEAD MUGGER PISTOL WHIPPED an elderly lady! The dead mugger committed armed robbery and assault/battery.
The good samaritan witnessed the robbery/assault, chased the mugger, caught up to the mugger and had a confrontation with the mugger. It was during the confrontation that the MUGGER STOLE one of the good samaritan's bullets! (was shat by the good samaritan.)
Since you failed to mention the facts that the mugger was armed and pistol whipped the lady, I suppose we can call you a liar as well.
Perhaps we should ask the old lady what she thinks about this good samaritan and your deliberately misleading Ripoff Report.

P.S. Killing a person because another is in distress does not make the killer a 'Good Samaritan'. Anyone who believes that a 'Good Samaritan' can kill someone else would believe that the following sentences are also true:
Example: Jesus saw a woman who was being beaten by a man, so he grabbed a large piece of wood and beat the man to death. A day later, Fox 9 News interviewed Jesus and gave him the 'Good Samaritan Award'.

What you get Susan, is ONE LESS ARMED ROBBER brandishing about society robbing and assaulting folks! You read the article and yet you seem to think that witnesses and bystanders should attempt to "tackle and hold" an ARMED ASSAILANT. Are you daff?
Perhaps if some law abiding citizens (who are armed) witness a violent raping taking place, they should merely sit down and start singing "Koombaya" and tell the ASSAILANTS how wrong and terrible their actions are. Better yet, the witnesses should whip out there smart phones and post the live action on to you tube and facebook!
Get real! If some ARMED robber was assaulting you, I'm pretty sure you would want someone to nail the jerk. Armed criminals and ASSAILANTS need to know that when they commit a violent crime, they run the REAL RISK that someone will intervene and put an END to their criminal career. The POLICE cannot protect you-they are an after-the-fact action, AFTER you've been assaulted, raped, or killed.
This former ARMED ROBBER AND ASSAILANT will NEVER ROB or ASSAULT anyone ever again.
I'll never understand folks as you that are compelled to feel sorry for the CRIMINAL.

Because that report stated that the one who shot him wasn't going to be prosecuted. Perhaps it was because they went into the other alleged crimes this person and his sister did. You didn't know that she is being charged for a few other violent robberies with the same MO in the previous weeks?

Half of you missed the point of all of this. Fox 9 news encourages murder, period, by justification. If I can think of a good reason to murder someone then I would be then a hero for KILLING. How psychotic is that?
More than likely this robber is an ex con with a brandished criminal record to the point that he can't get employment or housing and because of that he has no choice, if he wants to survive, to commit what society considers crimes. And you all think he's a 'bad person' for robbing someone. That just means you have no compassion or understanding of the situation.
The other thing is food and housing costs money and the globalists who engineer recessions cause most of the crime if you follow what most of society is entirely ignorant to and that is 'causality'. Our government's policy is that if you don't have a job to support yourself you deserve to die of starvation and of the elements due to lack of housing. The only reason this style of society exists is because lack of money coerces people into working for companies to make rich guys wealthier so that these people can pay huge amounts of tax to the banking industry (real terrorists) so they can use the common person to fulfill their globalist plans of one world government and economic slavery. There's no reason why food and shelter can't be free. Its insane that it is not free. And because Fox 9 news believes that it's a good thing to murder people who commit crimes they indirectly support the globalist agenda.
So yeah, I didn't miss anything. Bottom line is it is unethical and unloving to consciously kill anyone for any reason. The guy murdered is a victim of the globalist agenda. And because Fox news never reports on stories like this is because they are part of the globalist agenda to vomit progaganda to coerce the way societies think and believe. I am a liberal Democrat and would have shot the guy dead and I'm glad there is one more violent criminal off the street. Let's not generalize in any direction.
It's just an excuse to say the poor fellow was a victim of society. This kind of violent criminal has been around in various forms since the beginning of mankind and will still be here when we're all dead and gone. They are nothing new and are not a product of our current society, and certainly not because of the editorial style of a TV or radio station. We cannot reason with these criminals and coddling them is obviously not a solution.
I am not a fan of Fox but in this case they were not wrong, I would give the Samaritan an award myself.

This happened in my hometown yesterday. A man took up residence in a couple's empty home that is for sale. The couple went to the home, after they were told about this, confronted the perp and the perp grabbed the the homeowner's arm. Said homeowner was armed, but that didn't matter to the perp. Homeowner's wife grabbed her own conceal carry permitted weapon and shot the perp in the face. Perp is in the hospital. I'm assuming the lady needs more gun range time or something larger than a 9mm.

No, I am not daff. I responded to the original message that did not say the criminal was armed, or pistol whipped the lady. It said she was mugged and a good samaritan chased him and killed him.

Like Troy, you conveniently omitted pertinent information that did not support your anti-gun agenda. Troy's posting did NOT have the information YOU posted in your first rebuttal.
The 6th one sentence paragraph of the article states: "Officers found another handgun believed to belong to the dead suspect near the location of the shooting."
The 7th one sentence paragraph of the article states: "The mugging victim sustained a cut to her head when she was pistol-whipped."
So my dear, either you stopped reading the article at the end of paragraph 5 or you're daff. Which is it?

Spare us your idiotic blatherings. This assailant had other options. He didn't just rob someone, he PISTOL WHIPPED AN OLD LADY. And, you dolt, he robbed and pistol whipped her outside of a convenience store. Now, if your poor little victim of society was truly looking for some food, he could have STOLEN some food from the convenience store, couldn't he? He could have run in, grabbed a loaf of bread and a package of sandwich meat and ran away.
Perhaps he needed some cash to make his monthly Escalade payment? OK, he could have robbed the STORE of some cash while grabbing some munchies. Instead, he chose to ASSAULT an old woman with a WEAPON-too much of a coward to use bare hands. You see Troy, this was not a simple robbery by a victim of society to survive in our evil country. This was an ASSAULT with a weapon against a defenseless old lady.
