Bill Gephardt is a supposed consumer advocate who broadcasts his stories on KUTV Channel 2 here in Salt Lake City. He has been asked NUMEROUS times to do investigative stories on the local car dealerships and the scams they are pulling on unsuspecting consumers. Mr. Gephardt has even been given material to back up these claims that he could check for himself but yet has not done so.

If this man is truly a consumer advocate then he would do stories on these dealerships and be damned the revenue that his station gets from dealership advertising.

The RIP-OFF here are the watchers of this guy and KUTV for paying him. Mr. Gephardt is doing his viewers a disservice.

My name is Matt. I work as a producer for Bill Gephardt. 

We receive about 1000 requests for stories a week and of those we try and select the ones that will most often benefit viewers. Our record will show that, over time, we have reported on car dealerships and other sponsors when the story has warranted we do so. Financial obligations are dealt with by the sales department who act independently of Get Gephardt. 

9 times out of 10, if a story is passed on, it is because we cannot simply take the customers word and evidence will not back up the claim. This is especially true with car dealership stories as often people think there are rules in place to protect them when there are no such rules (IE: 3 day returns, or lemon laws on used cars, or a rate that one assumes is fixed but in fact is not).
