White Eagle Promotion White Eagle Records Cheat, Scam, Scandalous. Ripoff Internet

Hey fellow musicians out there...just wanted to share my experience about a scam with this company called White Eagle based in Canada / New York (per myspace page) run by Maureen Smith. I was looking to promote my music on radio, live shows and physical distribution and found her website - www.whiteeaglepromotion.com She certainly talks the talk and can convince you by guaranteeing you a deal based on her connections in the industry. She then collected the whole fee upfront to promote my music for the campaigns. Luckily I used a credit card since I know most of these companies want a check and then you have no recourse after they get their payment. As soon as she got the payment, she was never available to talk, was on vacation, never gave any updates on the campaign per contract. After the 8 weeks surpassed she said she found me a distributor - CMUJ. As soon as I googled this company it said they filed bankruptcy. She did not know I'd find out so I questioned here about it and she did not respond. I have disputed the charge and got my money back. Moral of my story is be very careful with companies like hers that require full payments upfront, want it by check/cash, throw out big names. Always have a way to back out should they take your money and do nothing for your music. She has listed all major company names as partners and has a photo of her from 30 years ago. She will call you 100 times to collect a payment and start a campaign and once she gets the money she is never available to talk. Rumor has it that she was a musician that failed and has made a living by cheating other musicians.
