I live in South Africa. In January 2009 I wanted to buy an ultrasonic body massager. I didn't want to go for a cheap chinese model because I read a lot of consumer complaints in the internet about their quality. Eventually I desided to buy a massager from 3Dhealthstore.com, which was an online health shop, based, as they say on their site, in Canada. I desided to pay for my order through the PayPal (because, if you didn't know, "it's the safer, easier way to pay!"). The delivery was specified as Express Shipping and the total cost was US$215. The receipt I'd got stated that the seller's name in fact was Eversun Software Corp. (no further details about them except one very dead email address). Then I received an email message saying that my order can only be processed once I would pay the postage costs to South Africa, which was (are you ready?) $72!!! without any other options. I immediately emailed to all addresses quoted on site for assistance, but never received any replies. After a bit of waiting I desided to take another risk and pay these $75 for postage as otherwise I would loose $215 which I already paid for the massager. The massager had eventually arrived to the post office and I told myself that I've learned a lesson and should forget about the postage rip-off as there was nothing else I could do. But wait, this is not all! A couple of weeks later I received a morning call from the bank. They told me that there was a suspicious activity noticed on my credit card account early that morning and about $500 were paid from it to a gambling site. I immediately filed a request for investigation and canceled my card. Happily, credit card fraud department was able to trace the transaction and proved that I didn't do that gambling payment and my money were refunded to me by the bank. My interaction with 3Dhealthstore.com through PayPal was the only online payment I executed for, probably, 8 or 9 months prior the credit card fraud accident, so I think they were the culprits here.
