I was called on Friday September 19, 2008 concerning a local service call the next morning. I agreed, not knowing this was a scam. The agreement of which i have in writing, was that I was to do the work, representing myself as 3 geeks and a mouse. I would get the check made payable to "3 geeks and a mouse." I mailed the payment on Monday morning September 22, 2008 to Bill Carson. I have several emails regarding payment would be mailed ten days after Mr Carson received payment. I emailed Mr. Carson on October 28th, which is over a month after the service was completed. He made up excuses, and said "the check was mailed that weekend." Obviously he lied once more, because i still have not received payment, nor did he have any intention paying me. It was only roughly a $70.00 payment, what kind of legitimate business has a problem paying $70.00?
That in itself should tell you something. I am a very small tech service company with three employees and i pay my temporary, contracted employees at the end of the job when agreed upon.
