Brookstone Stores Brought a frog-o-sphere. Told they are hearty and won't die. 7 days after the 30 day warrant ends - one frog dies. Then you are charged 17.00 to replace it. Merrimack, New Hampshire

My 9 year old daughter has been asking for a frog for the past year. We were in the Mall and saw Brookstone had tiny frogs called "frog-o-sphere". After talking with the sales associate about care and how many they had die on them that were on display. He assured us they don't die easily and if it was to die it would be from the move to the store to our house. They have a 30 day policy to replace the frogs if the died.

But they won't die-We were assured.

7 days after the 30 day policy. My daughter comes crying that Ella,the frog, is dead.

I call that night and explain. "Sorry the frog died, how do you want to pay for the replacement."  I protest his bad attitude and want to talk to someone. He gives me the Presidents name and address to write him. But he says the policy is up.

What am I hearing? Your SOL and if you want the new frog, pay for it.

My daughter used her own money for the frogs $43.13 and now I am paying $17.00 more for a frog to me mailed to us.

I asked how it will be delivered because this is Arizona and Sept. still in the 100s temperture wise. He tells me by Fedx. "They won't just leave it on the door will they", I ask.    He says,"I hope not. Arizona is hot and the frog will die"

Shame on Brookstone for selling a product that only out lives the warranty. If this was unusual then why didn't they just replace it?  I'll tell you why. Because they are crooked and have poor customer support. Brookstone has yet heard of customer comes first and in life, just do the right thing.

You're quick to say that they sold you a faulty product, but you're not taking into account that a 9 year old girl was taking care of them. Quite honestly, I don't see what the ripoff here is. I don't think you can really put a guarantee on the life of animals. Things die, you as an adult should know that. And, to defend the company, it died outside of the "warranty", and they did what they're supposed to. You just sound like a whiny American who didn't get their way like they usually do, and now you're mad at the world. Suck it up, it's a frog. Don't lose sleep over it.
