These people are the kings of douchebaggery.

Like many of the others that have posted here, I received a mailing from them stating that I had been nominated for membership.  I figured it was worth looking into, so I filled out what they wanted me to fill out.  I forgot about it from there, but a couple weeks later I got a call.

I don't remember the guy's name, but he started out very nice and professional.  We went through about a 20-minute "interview" process in which he tried to make me feel like I was a CEO.  But then, once he "approved" my application, the money talk began.

He was throwing out ridiculous figures ($800, $500, etc.) that were way more than anything I could afford.  I was ticked because I realized I had just wasted a bunch of time.  I knew at that moment that there was no way I'd be signing up.  It was just a matter of how I'd get the guy off the phone.  Well, it turned out to be somewhat diffiicult.  He wouldn't take 'no' for an answer.  He kept offering me discounts while continuing to talk about how great the benefits of membership were.

I kept trying to politely tell him no, but he kept persisting.  He never got rude or nasty, but he was VERY persistent.  It was ridiculous -- to the point where he wasn't even listening to what I was saying.  So finally I just hung up on him while he was in the middle of a sentence.  He did call back about 30 seconds later and left me a message, but that was it.  I never heard from them again.

At the time, I simply thought it was a rip-off rather than a true scam.  I figured everything they were offering was legit, but that they weren't exactly up front in terms of the cost.  But after reading about everyone else's experiences on here, it's obvious that this is a full-blown scam.

I feel bad for anyone who actually lost money to these turd sacks.  Good luck to everyone who's still trying to get their money back.  What I don't understand is, how are these crooks still operating?  Why haven't they been shut down?

They contacted me AGAIN!

AUTHOR: H.E. Pennypacker - New York City (United States of America)

I am writing this as an addendum to my original report.  Incredibly, Cambridge Who's Who has contacted me yet again to say that I have been selected as a potential candidate for their registry.  And yes, I am using the exact same email address as before.  But then again, I guess it's not that incredible.  It's reasonable to assume that an outfit such as this one surely wouldn't have their you-know-what together.

Below is the email I received and the response I sent them.  Enjoy!

---------------------

-----------------------------------

Dear Mr. Stevens,

I would like to say that I am truly honored to be selected as a member of your prestigeous institution. However, I am sorry to say that such a statement would be completely ingenuine and totally innacurate.

You see, I have already been solicited by your organization. Approximately two years ago I had the displeasure of going through this process. I spoke with one of your henchmen on the phone and rebuked his "offer" with extreme prejudice. My experience is outlined in the link below.

http://www.ripoffreport.com/miscellaneous-companies/cambridge-who-s-who/cambridge-who-s-who-tried-to-93953.htm

Yes, I did mean what I said when I referred to your organization as the "kings of douchebaggery." I would also like to note that my story is simply one among dozens on www.ripoffreport.com. And that's just ONE consumer advocate website.

I have a hard time understanding why your organization has yet to be shut down by the proper authorities. However, allow me to give you and your superiors a word of advice. Stop this scheming and put your efforts towards providing a greater good for all of society. There are honest ways to make money, ways that can help make the world a better place. You could find a way to help people and feel better about yourselves at the same time.

In case the previous four paragraphs have not provided sufficient clarity, allow me to summarize. I have absolutely no interest in your company's services, and I ask that you do not contact me ever again.

Have a good day.

Sincerely,

XXXXX
