Capital Management Services LP SCAM TRY's TO COLLECT ON DEBTS THAT ARE NOT YOURS Buffalo New York

I received a letter from Capital Management Services, informing me I owed over $3,700 for an unpaid Credit Card Company I have NEVER had in my life! I am debt free, own my homes outright, and know every account I have and had!

I called the 1-800 number listed on the letter, and got a "I'm sorry, all representatives are currently busy" There was a small beep, then a women's voice saying something in a coded voice, then nothing. I retried several times, then gave up.

Several days later, I get a call demanding payment. I believe when I called about the account, they "CAPTURED" my phone number that they didn't have before. I explained to them I NEVER have had the card they say I had.

Now get this. She says "according to my credit report, I did." Yet they couldn't verify ANY personal information about this alleged account unless I offered to give it to them, and they try to trick you into giving it to them. They say things like "we need to verify who you are" I said "you called me, and you don't know who I am?" I offered if they gave me something valid, ANYTHING I would talk with them further. They declined. I demanded they "prove" this account was mine as per what my attorney told me to say and was hung up on. I am waiting. It's been 1 week now.

Now you're going to love this. I ordered my credit report, downloaded them from all three, nothing about that credit card company anywhere on my report. Of course I already knew that. I watch my credit like a hawk. It's a hobby for me. By the way, my credit score is well, well into the 800's. Always has been. My personal banker says I have the highest credit score of any of his accounts. They picked the wrong guy to try to defraud!

This has got to be a scam. A scam, or a feeble attempt to "shotgun" letters out to everybody of public record that has my name to find the real debtor. I'll keep you informed. This is quite distressing to me. I have worked very hard to keep my credit sacred. Now, I feel I am under attack! Anybody else had dealings with this outfit?
