Carfax Ruined my chances of selling my car Centreville Virginia

Well, I think I have the best one yet! I am selling my car and was aware that there were 2 previous accidents. I decided to get a Carfax in order to see what was reported. Upon reading the report, it did reflect the 2 accidents that I new of but I was shocked to see that it reported them both as "Total Vehicle Loss". First of all, how can the same vehicle be reported as a Total Vehicle Loss on 2 occasions!!??
My car is being advertised and I am getting phone calls already from people that are asking prior to purchasing the car, if I would provide them with the VIN in order to get a Carfax.
I need to sell this car immediately due to financial reasons and the car is a Mustang Convertible in mint condition. I am selling it for a very reasonable price and know it will sell fast. Bottom line is i'm screwed.
I sent them an email and they responded telling me I have to fill out a form along with my documentation of proof.
I don't feel I should have to do this. I want to know where they got that information because I will get my Laywer to sue their asses!!
I really think after reading other complaints that we should get together and bring this issue to the public media. I know I am going to. If there is anyone else out there that wants to join me, please let me know.

First how can a car that was in 2 accidents be in "Mint Condition".
You don't deny that it was in two accidents and CarFax lists two accidents. A "Total Vehicle Loss" can be a bit misleading. A lot of times an insurance company will "Total" a car if the damages approach a certain percentage of damage.

get the car inspected and appraised. if the car is sound mechanically and the frame/body is true, you will have no problem with a sale. i as a prospective buyer would rely on the word of a local appraiser or a mechanic rather than some corporate entity with 100's of thousands of vehicles in its data-base. if all else fails then sell it as-is( if someone wants it they will buy it). if a mechanics word and appraisal isn't enough to get you what you want, then ther isn't much you can do. it is my experience that mustang lovers will buy no matter what the percieved problems, so don't worry too much lol.
