CRS INC Door-to-Door Magazine Sales Aubrey, Texas

We had a young guy knock on our door this evening.  He was from CRS, INC.  He told my hubby and I about his free trip he had to earn points for and a communications project that he was involved in.  He then proceeded to tell us how he just moved in to an apt. in our complex.  Later, during the conversation, he had no clue on how to get out of the complex... Odd.

"Wally", the name he gave us, told us his father was a pastor in Elyria, OH.  Wally was 27 and finally on the right path.   I mentioned I have family close to Elyria and he seemed to get nervous.  He was smooth up until that point.  He told us the magazine sale was to benefit his trip with the change in conversation.

My hubby and I decided to help him out.  We bought 2 magazines.  Wally asked if we could pay cash for both.  I had no cash, thankfully.  He then asked for two checks to get more points for his trip.  I obliged not listening to the warning bells going off.

Ten minutes later, after Wally left, I checked the internet for the company credentials.  Ripoffreport.com popped up with report after report of what the company did.  I immediately called the bank to cancel both checks.  Then I called the police. 

The police called and said they had the people soliciting for CRS, INC. and were questioning them.  I told the cop about the checks.  The cop said they only had ONE of my checks.  Wally and his group did not give the checks to the cop and the cop said he couldn't take them.

I will never buy door to door again!  This is horrible that in a country where all men and women have the right to be treated with respect and dignity, there are jerks willing to take advantage of people who just thought they were helping.  There needs to be a change in laws about these people and businesses. 

PLEASE, do not listen to anyone from CRS, INC.!!!  They are liars.
