h&r block waited til i filed my taxes on rapid refund for the 6th year with them to tell me they no longer have that program that deposits the cash from your refund on the emerald card with a few hours. i was not happy. then they said it takes 1 to 2 days if approved. well for 5 years never had a problem. late on second day , nooo money. i call and was told i was denied. will take 8-15 days and then will be applied onto card. but i paid 214.00 for this service, and my income was only 9,523 this year. well you paid for our expertise service they said.

i will get 35.00 back for not getting the money fast. i had no deductions but kids, own nothing, been out of work alot in 2008. this is highway robbery, and a bunch of mis leading crap. i want to stop the process and go elsewhere. hand r block says you cant, you already e filed thru us. so your screwed.

NEVER use H&R Block!

We had a bad experience with H&R Block years ago that left us owing $4,000 to the IRS! Ever notice why they advertise how they will stick by you if you are audited?! It's for a reason! My husband and I have never been audited by the IRS until using H&R Block. We are honest people who got caught up in a mess because of the preparers mistake.

Do yourself a favor next year - E-FILE!

It's cheap and the program does the work for you. It takes us about two weeks each year to get our tax refund back now.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. I will never allow anyone else but myself to do our tax returns now.

You pay H&R Block for the tax preparation. the bank which lends you money is HSBC. They used to be called Household Bank or Household finance.

Like any other loan there is a check of your credit status and lending institution determines whether they want to lend you the money.

In the office where I work we see over 95% of refunds loans accepted.

Unfortunately you were one of the few who are denied.
You are still responsible for the tax preparation fee.

As a tax preparer I make a point of telling all my customers who want a refund loan that there is a small possibility that it will be denied by the bank.
